Solomon, what I don't get is this:

First of all, I think you're being a little harsh on your own sex. I think most men have learned to keep their caveman instincts to themselves most of the time.

Second of all - if this is purely a biological and instinctual matter, why would women want to become like men? We have no seed to spead, our cavewomen ancestors wouldn't benefit from this sort of behaviour at all. I don't think women have the instinct to screw around. I think sixties' feminism was about cultural changes, not instinctual ones.
Very interesting book called "Sex at Dawn" you might be interested to read. Among other topics, it discusses what women's natural sexual instincts are, as opposed to their culturally constructed sexual behaviours are. Home

What's a Gride?

It's when you get married to a Gremlin.

Gremlins are actually social conservatives.

Did I know that about you? I can't remember.

I remember telling you I wanted to name my rabbit Knin. I think you were the only one who got that joke.

Speaking of social conservatives - what exactly do people mean when they say "I'm socially conservative and economically liberal" or variations on this theme?

:D Oh! :D I suffer from severe memory loss, apparently. But the joke is still very punny! ^_^

I think when Nabokov named the little diner "The Egg and We" he had its Dutch translation in mind (which is funnier).

Usually, it means they're a tea partier.

It means that they're against gay marriage and abortion and the likes, but also against government spending and regulation.

Oh. I don't understand that position, because if you're against government regulation then what business of the government is it who marries who? (The SGP are not against government regulation by the way. They wants shops to be closed on Sundays, for example.)

Note well: For a great many people, when they SAY "we're against government regulation" what they MEAN is "we're against government regulation we don't agree with. Government regulation that we agree with is fine"

Yeah. What I noticed is that in most cases, they're just against the government taking their money.

I think you might need to study the feminist movement a little to know what I am talking about.

Alright, if you think you know more about it than I do, why don't you explain it to me?

Really, I know little about feminism in America. I can give you lectures about Dolle Mina and Provo all you want, though.

i dont want to state anything other than the fact that before women entered the labor market- a man could buy a home and support a family washing dishes

now that women are 51% of the labor market- wages were driven down, unemployment up, and two starting incomes can barely get you an apartment in the ghetto

The actual feminist movement? Or some sort of crazy religious right's strawman of the feminist movement making it all about man eating lesbians?

Be specific, because if you mean one, but she studies the other, people will end up confused.

Uh -

I'm pretty sure it works the other way around - women started working a) because all youse guys were shooting Germans and b) prices went up, so they had to.
