Hi Softly,

Sure, I count myself as one. However, if by conservative you mean wears a coat and tie to worship and calls down curses and plagues upon anyone who would allow any translation of the word of God in their hands, but the KJV, then I must bow out.

If, on the other hand, by conservative you mean those who seek to know God and His Son in the same way that the very first disciples, (Paul, Peter, John, etc.) knew and worshipped, then my hand stays up.

God bless you.

What I mean is the world seems to be filling up with liberal Christianity by the minute. Those who decide it is ok to drink in moderation or do drugs because God made them or date several people at once, look at inappropriate material because it "does not hurt anyone", accepting of worldly ways and things. Women not being submissive, men not taking the lead, woman dressing provocatively, men "checking out" every woman who walks by. Those are just a few examples. The list goes on for miles. Nobody seems to be concerned with avoiding the appearance of evil these days. Ok, just my two cents

hi Softloy,

Yes, you are correct. Not only is your assessment correct, but it is even fulfillment of prophecies of the Scriptures. Paul wrote to Timothy: For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine.http://www.christianforums.com/#cr-descriptionAnchor-1 Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.http://www.christianforums.com/#cr-descriptionAnchor-2 We are living in the very days that Paul warned Timothy would be coming.

Jesus gave a very clear example of faith when he returns:
"I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?" I believe that Jesus, and all of the first disciples who were given the blessing of teaching the later day saints through the written word, all understood that the assessment of people, as a group, would be just as you have assessed.

For the born again believer, we can look at the general acceptance of the behaviour that you speak of, and know that the time is near. The world is ripe for the Anti-christ. Will he rise on the scene in my lifetime? I don't know, but I'm fairly confident that we won't see another 100-200 years of the times of the gentiles.

God bless you.

I believe that we will more than likely see the antichrist within the next 20 or less years, emphasis on less. I am glad about that but finding conservative Christians seems nearly impossible right now. As a single person it is hard to find men that are traditional with old fashioned values. It is somewhat depressing and I feel bad saying this but if I am to tell the truth from my own personal experience it is especially hard to find other women friends who have those values.

Are there really any good old fashioned conservative Christians out there anymore? If so, I want to find you! lol. I am so sad to see the Christian population has become so liberal in their morals, thinking etc....

Right here. You found one.

I am as perplexed and dumbfounded as the next man as to how someone can be a Liberal (as we understand Liberalism today) AND a Christian.

It is a sad thing indeed. I see it a lot in mainstream Christianity and Catholicism

You mean mainstream Christianity - period.
Catholics are Christians too, you know.

EDIT: Oh, you're a Catholic too. That was an odd choice of words on your part.

I consider political liberalism in the Church to be no less than evil. Pope Paul VI once had a vision, and he said "The smoke of Satan has entered the sanctuary." I don't know what that means exactly, but when I look at some of the horrors that some Christians accept, all in the name of "choice" and "tolerance", I am pretty sure that his vision was prophetic in some way.

I agree that most of the above list is wrong, but . . . Christ drank in moderation and provided more wine for people at a wedding who were probably not drinking in moderation.

Could it be this is the start of the "falling away".......Its pretty bad when you have to defend the bible is true, to preachers who talk and live contrary to what it says.......They call it the "emerging church" On the face it looks really cool and quite possibly a good idea, but when you watch and see what sort of disciples its producing, Its pretty sad!
