Although, my family are generally Liberal Christians, without even realizing the difference.
(i.e. they swear, smoke, get drunk, don't bother praying, yet somehow appear to church on Sundays. *sigh* Gotta love my family.. <3)

I'm a little indifferent on the Gay-Marriage thing, though. I mean, I'm not saying it's right, but if they truly wish to live that way, well, we are America and they have the right to do so. (If anyone reading this is American. )

Abortion, however, I am VERY Conservative on. :/
Apparently, it makes me "anti-feminist". Oh well.

It was regular wine, not some cheap non alcoholic knock off. We can see this from the verses where they exclaim it the best, the official taster would know the difference. Paul even says a glass of wine is good.

There is nothing wrong with Alcohol, the abuse of it is.

Because along with everything God made alcohol too. It is well meaning but wrong Christians who have insisted something is wrong with it. It's like saying because the forum can be abused we should stay off of it. Moderation in everything, excess in none

That's opinion at the expense of the text - which isn't conservative, if conservative means preserving what is in the text.

There's nothing wrong with some alcohol, but getting drunk on purpose almost every weekend is a bit... over doing it, but... that's just my opinion, to each their own. ^^'

The way that I look at it is that alcohol brings on the appearance of evil, so why do it? God has created everything on earth and some of it is good for us and some of it is not good for us. I always find that the topic of alcohol upsets people and they do seem to defend it. It seems people never defend cocaine or other drugs so why defend the drink? I am sincerely asking. Not trying to upset anyone.

I suppose that eating with tax collectors, prostitutes, and other people of ill repute did so also, but Jesus did it and yet he was perfectly sinless. This isn't to say that we should hide behind it to excuse getting drunk, but it does mean the teetotalers' traditional line of thinking needs to be re-examined in light of Scripture says.

Because you can drink moderately, but you can't use hard drugs moderately. Trying one beer isn't like trying some drug on the street where using it once will hook a lot of people for life.

I know that you're strongly against the use of alcohol, but Biblically, not all alcohol use is wrong. Drunkeness and the abuse of alcohol are certainly wrong, but we need to be careful not to extend that to all alcohol use. The Eucharist actually involves partaking in wine as part of the ceremony.

In another part of the Bible, Paul's epistle to Timothy, the Apostle informs his letter's recipient that he should use a little bit of wine instead of just water because he is frequently sick. Water was often unsanitary in the ancient world, and encouraging Timothy to use some wine (probably intermixed with the water) was good health advice. The alcohol would kill bacteria and other potentially harmful microbes in the water, and make it safer to drink.

I'm not trying to encourage unhealthy drinking or trying to downplay the sinfulness of drinking to excess or the harm of alcoholism. I had an aunt who passed away because of liver cirrhosis as the result of an addiction to alcohol. I just thought that I would try to help you understand this topic, because many people don't understand it fully.

Yeah, I am one of those Christians. The Bible doesn't forbid alcohol, it does for drunkenness though.

I didn't want this thread to turn into a debate about alcohol. I admit I worried it would happen because so many Christians, like I said, seem to defend it. Maybe we should all agree to disagree on that topic.

If alcohol use violates your conscience as to being wrong, you are not incorrect to decide that you will not drink. Don't impose your own conviction on others though because the Bible doesn't forbid drinking.

Right and if we want to following Scripture than however much we don't want to ourselves we must admit that alcohol use is not wrong according to the Scriptures.

Now keeping with the OP there are many other instances of true liberal evilness sneaking into all Churches.

You can't just take one verse and blanket that verse onto everything. The Bible verses are clear as far as matters of conscience and right and wrong, and Christians who decide to be vegetarian and those that choose not to, and also matters of alcohol use. Romans Ch 14 covers this well. Read it.
