The following letter to the editor was printed in the Trinity Journal, Weaverville California:
Most of the reason for the sour grapes in this diatribe was because of the passing of the ammendment to the California Constitution limiting marriage to one man and one woman. IE: Marriage is a hetrosexual arrangement only. The liberals in this state are furious. I have made only one correction in this by capitalizing the word 'Fundimentalists' throughout as the writer did so after deciding to save himself the time of typing it out and using the abbreviation of 'CF'. Besides, it was correct anyway. The rest of the mispelling (such as Jesus's) belong to the writer.

I think that one of the messages we can garner from the last election is that the American people are tired of conservatives in general and Christian Fundamentalist activism in particular. While I am all for everyone following their religious bleiefs to the best of their ability, I am opposed to those certain individuals forever trying to impugn the rights of others.
Christian Fundamentalists are always complaining about abortion being legal and gay marriages and evoloution being taught in our public schools, claiming we should adhere to the word of God written in the Bible, which by the way was not written by God, but by men with an agenda, and has been heavily edited and misinterperted over the centuries with entire books being left out, which fortunately were rediscovered in 1945.
It's also an amazing fact that some Christians don't follow Jesus's prime tenet: love everyone, even your enemies. Instead, the CF's (Christian Fundamentalists) prefer to scare people into submission/obedince with tales of a boogeyman/vengeful God. To wit: God gifing Moses the Ten Commandments, one of which is Thou Shall Not Murder , and immediately sending Moses and his band of merry worshipers to slaughter the inhabitants of the nearest town. And God killing Aron's two sons for lighting the wrong incense. What a fun guy the Old Testament God must have been.
Here's my solution to CF activism: let the church leaders keep their tax-exempt status, but let them keep their religious beliefs to within their own religion. No abortions allowed for the "Life is precious" but "pro-death penalty" CF's. No gay CF'S allowed to divorce while were at it, since they apparently take marriage much more seriously than the rest of us. No science (evolution, etc.) taught to those voiciferous CF's because they just can't handle it, and no holier-than-thou CF's allowed to operate motor vehicles -- which rely on "fossil fuels" -- because there were no dinosaurs or fossils. Let them develop their own vehicles fueled by prayer/wishful thinking.
and let's keep Christ in Christmas even though four out of five biblical scholars agree that the Christians borrowed the pagan clelbration of Yule/winter solstice on December 21 and moved it to December 25 as the birthday of their favourite son. Just as they borrowed Jesus's supposed resurrection from the ancient Egyptions (Orisis), but that's another story.
