As you say they are good questions, which being the case threw the sensibility of the whole discussion I referred to into question, so I pointed it out. I had no idea I was getting hot over the discussion apart from you mentioning it. Can you say what it is in my post from which you can infer that? And are you saying people in hell getting heated over their situation in being there raises the temperature for them? How is this then fair judgment according to what was done in life here on earth?

Tim is not correct. People of "other religions" are no more in danger of Hell than those who died before Jesus walked the earth, or those who have never heard the gospel. Rejecting God's Holy Spirit is the only unforgivable Sin. Being a Buddhist is not. That's when I stopped listening to the video.

We will do that as soon as you show us where it is written that we must accept everything in the Bible, any Bible Book, chapter, etc. as totally literal or totally figurative? That is why long, long ago scholars stated the maxim, "If the plain sense makes good sense, then it is nonsense to look for any other sense." Just because one thing can be shown to be figurative is not license to declare everything as figurative.

But I would suggest that "good sense" has a poor foundation. So I'd lean even harder on "plain sense" even when it doesn't always make sense at first.

People of "other religions" have "other gods" and they are headed straight for hell if they don't genuinely repent. Have you ever even read the Bible? As far as those who died before Jesus walked the earth are concerned, have you never read of the likes of Abel, Abraham, David, etc.? These all looked ahead to the cross by faith and their sacrifices were types and shadows of Christ's eventual atonement on the cross of Calvary. As for those who only sacrificed religiously as hypocrites...well, I think the Bible is pretty clear as to where they presently are.

I assume that you meant to say (Have you ever read the Bible?) the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, but, in either case, all who reject Christ reject the Holy Spirit as well as He is the very Spirit of Christ. Would you like for me to cite chapter and verse? Incidentally, ALL SINS are "unforgivable" if not genuinely repented of. You really should try reading the book. Really.

Being a Buddhist is not.

For the one who dies as a practicing Buddhist, hell is their fate. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. NO MAN comes to the Father but by Him. You're not faring too well, are you?

Bad choice. From just what I've read in this one post of yours alone, you desperately need to watch the whole video. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that you desperately need Christ. Take care.

The point is, which you have missed, is that someone cannot insist that the entire passage Luke 16:19-48 must be considered a parable or figurative simply because Jesus used one figure of speech, the term "bosom of Abraham." For example when Jesus called Herod a fox, he was not literally a fox, the plain sense, that was a figure of speech but that does not mean that his healing the sick and casting out devils was figurative.

Luk 13:32 And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.

This guy is un-scriptural right from the get go.

Nowhere does it say in the scriptures that anyone is deserving of being tortured eternally.

Even this guys prayers are insulting to God!
