True....but the fact is that in the time of Daniel and in the time of John they used the lunar calendar based on 1 month = 30 days.A year is one orbit of the earth around the sun. Nothing more, nothing less.
A lunar calendar is a confusion and quickly puts the seasons out of place.
1260 days = 42(months) x30 (days)The time periods given in Daniel and Rev. are: 1260 days, 42 months and 3 1/2 years. All refer to the exact same time period, one half of Daniels 70th 'week'.
You omitted the 3 1/2 years.1260 days = 42(months) x30 (days)
Proof that Daniel and John used the lunar calendar for the timeline.
-Obviously they are the same time period...i never said otherwise !You omitted the 3 1/2 years.
Devious of you, because the fact that the 3 1/2 years is mentioned in conjunction with 1260 days in Revelation 12, confirms they ARE the same time period.
3 1/2 years @ 360 days = 1260 days. 3 1/2 years @ 365.24 days = 1278.34 What to do with the extra 18 1/3 days?I wanted to give you the honor to figure out how the 3 1/2 years fit with the lunar calendar .
God does not care about our modern Gregorian calendar.... that explain why you arrive with the extra 18 1/3 days !3 1/2 years @ 365.24 days = 1278.34 What to do with the extra 18 1/3 days?
I am not interested in the lunar calendar. That's a Jewish thing, not what is almost universally used; our Gregorian calendar.
No, keep it simple. No need to invent fanciful explanation....I repeat, the earths orbital time must change in order for the time periods as given in Daniel and Revelation, to be fulfilled.
Can you provide the source of that affirmation (?)...a scientific source would be great.Ancient records show that there was a 360 day year before 1495 BC. Comet Typhon passed close by then and caused the earth to slow down to a 365.24 day year.
But 1260 days is NOT 3 1/2 actual years, nor is 42 X 30 day months. The earth at present takes 1278 1/3 days to complete 3 1/2 years.1/2 years = 42 (months) x 30 (days) = 1260 days
Read 'Worlds in Collision', by Immanuel Velikovsky. Pages 90-92Can you provide the source of that affirmation (?)...a scientific source would be great.
You miss the point. But 1260 days is NOT 3 1/2 actual years, nor is 42 X 30 day months. The earth at present takes 1278 1/3 days to complete 3 1/2 years.
So much for your math skills and I failed at mathematics!
Really ? Venus ejected from Jupiter as a comet (Typhon) .... does it even worth the time needed to refute such a claim .Read 'Worlds in Collision', by Immanuel Velikovsky. Pages 90-92
He was a scientist, reviled by his peers because he contradicted them, but his research and conclusions that Comet Typhon severely affected the earth in 1495 BC, are impossible to refute.
But that is how it is now: the earth takes 365 1/4 days to complete a year. So 1260 days and 42 X 30 months, do not add to 3 1/2 years at present. You miss the point.
The point is that God do not care about the Gregorian calendar.... that explain why you arrive with the extra 18 1/3 days !
Obviously the lunar calendar of 1 month =30 days is God's Calendar which will determine the timeline of the 1260 days/42 months/3 1/2 years. But that is how it is now: the earth takes 365 1/4 days to complete a year. So 1260 days and 42 X 30 months, do not add to 3 1/2 years at present.
YOU explain how that can be reconciled.
Velikovsky in Bible prophecies ?I never saw Velikovsky's name written in the Bible. As for Velikovsky, I note you repeat the derogatory remarks and false accusations of those who don't like his work. The 'established scientific community', - believe everything they say, do you? In preference to Bible prophecy?
