You mean like almost all Americans? You have some real insight....who has a well deserved reputation for doing whatever is best for him.
see now you are taking away all my illusions about people running for office because they want to serve and help people, or because they love this country. I feel real disappointed now, say it isnt true. You mean like almost all Americans? You have some real insight....
You are finally waking up? If this is the case, then may I direct your angst towards Donald J Trump, a man who is only out for himself. That is where you should focus your criticism.see now you are taking away all my illusions about people running for office because they want to serve and help people, or because they love this country. No, but neither is that what the reference to "discourse" was all about. Is this "discourse?"
2500 rioters assaulting Capitol police (injuring 138), vandalizing property, occupying the building?
The RNC censured Liz Cheney and Kinzinger for participating in a committee to investigate the January 6 insurrection.

There is no justification for the Capitol attack, and even less for the RNC coverup attempt.

Having trouble following the thread? Is this Romney or Trump of whom you are speaking?
I think there are many of the people that he is supposed to be representing who did not appreciate his statement. It along with other things will be considered when he runs again. Was making that statement best for his future in today's Republican Party?
The committee has met (so far) behind closed doors; the real “political theater” will begin this spring when they hold open hearings .Well, I think it makes sense to distinguish legitimate investigation from "political theater".
The Jan 6th investigation efforts are largely the latter.
Is anyone with half a brain actually NOT understanding what happened or what caused it?
A bunch of people were angry that their guy didn't win, and resorted irrational actions as a response to misinformation claiming that the election was "stolen from them"
There's really not much to investigate here.
Let me save the taxpayers a lot of money and give people synapsis of what happened:
"Redneck doofuses got mad because their guy didn't win, so entertained conspiracy theories and acted as such"
The two republicans in question already know the same things we all do.
Their participation seems more like a "show everyone I'm one of the good ones" tactic.
I'm more concerned that so many people think it's warranted to spend millions of taxpayer dollars to investigate the painfully obvious.
"Joe Smith drank 8 beers and got in a car crash on the way home... we need to have a congressional committee to investigate why he ran his car into a telephone pole on the way home from the bar"

Obviously not...For purposes of this thread, do those irrational actions constitute "legitimate political discourse"?
