But I thought that Obama was a Communist or a Socialist! You can't be that and be a Fascist. You are one or the other.

You are wrong. You can be a communist or a socialist and a fascist. The Nazis were a prime example. All three of those are very big on governments controlling ever aspect of the nation including the lives of citizens.

MSNBC said they like to maintan a "high level of discourse" when they suspended this dude indefinitely. Sure, like when Oberman said "Bush, go to *ell!" Or called him a liar or others there called him a murderer. I see.

To be fair, Oberman did get a week off for calling Laura Ingram a "[bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]". Or was that Ed Shultz, oh, I get them both confused. See one hate filled, vain popping, screaming, liberal, seen 'em all.

Or, much more likely, because it's considered bad form to swear on morning television.

But spin it however your heart desires.
Hmm, "bad form." Well, I agree it was inappropriate and no one should say something like that, particularly in that forum.

However, that's not the point.

They would have suspended him because such things are not appropriate for anchors to say - regardless of their political leanings.
Ringo
Then why, with plenty of opportunities and cause, some far worse than this, did they not?

And they are.

Swearing on a television show, and a subsequent reprimand always looks bad for the left, dontcha know? What's up with these crazy PC pinko commie Marxist socialist lefties anyways? I bet the spit on the flag.

:yellowcard:

Are you serious? You have no clue what "cultural marxism" is?

Here - whether you agree with the concept or not, best to bone up before making comments like the above:

Using Marx, justify the use of the term. Just because people use a term incorrectly, does not mean it is valid.

Thank you.

And people are criticizing MSNBC for suspending a person over saying that?
Ringo
Actually, if you read what happened, he asked whether they were on delay or not. Scarborough & Brezinski said they were, to go ahead and say whatever it was he was going to say. So he did. The guy in charge of the bleep button however wasn't paying attention and didn't hit it in time so it got aired.

Now, it's a bad word regardless, but it wasn't his fault (entirely) it got aired.

Think about it. I ask you if it's ok to kick you, that before I do you'll step out of the way so I don't actually hit you; and you say "sure - go for it!" So I kick and you and you can't get out of the way and I hit you; then you say "you kicked me! How dare you!" and blame me for getting hit.

So yeah, the criticism is valid.

The criticism is also valid for the sheer hypocrisy of it all.

You don't get it. Keith Olbermann called George W Bush a murderous fascist and a war criminal. He was not suspended or reprimanded in any way. What do you make of that? Is that a double standard or not? Isn't what Olbermann said far worse than calling someone a dick?
Olbermann had an opinion show that was on later in the evening. You know, just like Glenn Beck, who called the president a fascist, Marxist, racist and so on without being suspended. This was an early morning show that is watched with the expectation that it will be completely family-friendly.

Double standard indeed.
Hmm, "bad form." Well, I agree it was inappropriate and no one should say something like that, particularly in that forum.

However, that's not the point.
Then what, pray tell, is? The point that you were originally claiming, that he was censored because it offended Obama, has no evidence and fails to overcome even common sense. What others do you propose?

Ah, question answered. Your point is completely and utterly different to that you made in your OP. Having thought about it, you realise your initial critique fails to pass muster (either that or you actually read the article you linked for the first time), so you're jumping onto something else. There is no hypocrisy here, despite your incoherent claims to the contrary. The beeper is there to catch accidental slips, not to provide a carte blanche excuse, encouragement or validation for swearing on air. Go on, try to argue otherwise.

And as a whole, it's not liberals who tend to knee-jerk over this kind of thing.

I do recall Beck calling Prez Obama a racist and then saying he was sorry so I guess you're not much into forgiveness. That's why you bring it up again. Oh well.

My uncle's name is Dick. Maybe the guy was trying to compare Obama to another person, not a swear word.

I mean, there's a lot more repugnant words the man could've used.
You've a point there.

He could've been comparing him to Dick Durbin, or maybe Ted Dick, union leader and Montana's new Democrat Party director... Perhaps Norm Dicks, Democrat on the house appropriations committee. Dick Gebhardt maybe? Dick Holland, Democrat contributor?

My vote though would go to racecar driver Dick Trickle, given Obama's race to drain this nation of its life-blood.

It's funny because Ed Schultz used to be a hate filled, vain popping, screaming, conservative. That wasn't paying the bills. It's all entertainment.

Yep, you got me, that's the only reason I brought it up. Not because it was a perfect parallel for contrast for the point oldbetang raised or anything. Nope. All me and my 'lack of forgiveness'.
My uncle's name is Dick. Maybe the guy was trying to compare Obama to another person, not a swear word.

I mean, there's a lot more repugnant words the man could've used.
"He shouldn't have been suspended because, in a context that was obviously not being used in this case, the word he said isn't a swear".

That your argument?
You've a point there.

You probably shouldn't encourage her.

And when are you going to clarify your disingenuous OP?

MSNBC Suspends Mak Halperin over use of a "vulgarism" towards the messiah.

:D :D This is just "Oh my God" laugh out loud funny. :D :D
...and for that he's suspended and MSNBC scrambles to apologize.

Political correctness (cultural marxism) run amok.

Were it anyone else (i.e. anyone right of progressives), they'd be gayly glittered "racist" with all the venom and spite they could conjure.

For progressives, it's merely an embarrassment.

Anyone think the ACLU will rally around this guy?

So everything you disagree with is automatically "leftist"? GE is Marxist?
