Shame on you for not calling them by the proper term!

That is the plural of yeled (Strongs # H3206)which is used in the bible about 89 times.

How is that NOT the "proper term?"

....my reply was "tongue-in-cheek" based upon the fact that, apparently, we are supposed to be calling them "lambs", and if we call them "kids" we are risking the wrath of God. Maybe I should start adding smilies after a post like that.

Since a part of our congregation are Hebrew speakers and most have at least a small understanding, we use Hebrew terms a lot.

Uh i think your english comprehension skills are lacking.

Lambs grow into sheep.
Kids grow into goats.

In the bible it does talk about kids..actually.
You do not seethe a kid in its mothers milk. Exodus 23:19

I'm sorry but are you really saying that because a scripture contains the word " goat" or " kid" it proves your opinion; even though the actual scriptures say nothing of the kind? Again, any negative meanings you are ascribing to the modern meaning of "kid" is your own opinion and is not supported by anything in God's word . You are free to not like or use the word, but you can't tell others ( especially loving parents or devoted children ministry workers at your church, I presume) that it's derogatory and it means they are insulting/ cursing children ( that's a serious accusation BTW )and try to base it on scripture bc no scripture exists that states this. Don't twist God's word for your own devices or to get your own way at church in the children's ministry.
