Im look advice recently took a Krav Maga self defense lesson.

I was talking to my pastor about my lesson in self defense he told me that many east martial arts have a element of spiritualisme aggression and i need to be careful
i don´t wanna do anything against God and he´s will.
Before the talk i was happy for the training it was fun good exercises lean new things.
i be training for years in gyms (weight training) alone. It was good not to train alone.

My opinion and belief may be in the minority, but I say go for it. Krav Maga itself is Israeli, so I see no issues with it.

If I had the time and resources I would take up martial arts. You can do them without doing the spiritual aspect of them.

While serving in the Army in Korea in the mid 70s for exercise and something to occupy my evenings I studied Tae Kwon Do and earned a black belt. I am now an ordained pastor. I had to stop practicing in the mid 80s due to cumulative combat injuries not related to TKD. I never noticed any spiritual element.
I say go for it if you see any spiritual element you do not like you can always drop out.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art specifically designed for real life self-defence, not sport. It is even used by the Israeli Defence Force, as first taught by Imi Lichtenfeld, a Hungarian Jew who invented it during the Second World War. The idea was to take all the most effective, yet easy to learn, combat moves into a militarized mixed martial arts style.[1][2][3]

It is INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS and should ALWAYS be used as A LAST RESORT (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, Exodus 20:13, Galatians 5:19-26, Proverbs 3:31-33, 14:29-30, 16:31-32).[3][4] Joe Rogan, an MMA commentator, and Andy Strumpf, a Navy SEAL, has CRITICAL things to say about those who take interest in martial arts for the sake of picking fights with others.[5]

God bless, and USE WISDOM AND DISCERNMENT!!!

Krav Maga was developed by a Jew. Its focus is self-defense, and what is typically taught to those outside of military and law enforcement is going to be stripped down even further. I really don't think you have to worry about evil spirits when training it.

You might want to supplement it though, with MMA or BJJ or Judo or kickboxing. Sport fighting to give you good fundamentals and to expose you to going 100% (and people going at you 100%), and Krav Maga for the other things.

Jesus is and was against violence, even self defense.

He said if someone slaps you on one cheek, turn the other for him as well, He cautioned his disciples whenever they wanted to defend him/themselves physically.

As Believers we are required to follow Christ example. I would say practice self-control instead and find ways to run and flea from potentially dangerous situations if and when you can. God bless

I think BJJ is very useful because almost all fights end up on the ground, knowing how to control or disable your opponent on the ground is the key.

If it's a good self-defense class, it will include situational awareness and de-escalation to avoid violence at all when possible.

I taught a Japanese martial art for nearly thirty years. The founder of the art was extremely "religious" and manifested abilities that were probably demonic. But there wasn't a hint of the religious in anything I was taught or did in the actual training in the martial art. Some teachers in the organization I was a part of got a little...woo-woo New Agey, but such stuff wasn't ever necessary to the training. As a Christian, I completely ignored this eastern religious nonsense.

I think some basic tactics for self-defense and the defense of others you love and who are vulnerable is extremely valuable.

Krav Maga is entirely devoid of spiritual stuff. It is bare-bones, fight-for-your-life techniques that are aimed at simplicity and effectiveness, developed by Israelis and taught to their military. It is a very good self-defense choice.

The problem isn't, in Krav Maga, spiritual nonsense, but the character of the teacher. If you get a creep who is the teacher, he will attract creeps to his training hall and the training, and training culture, can become extremely unwholesome and even dangerous - especially for women. There is unavoidable physical contact - sometimes of a fairly intimate sort - in the application of fighting maneuvers and if there isn't an extremely high concern for respectful training, things can degenerate very seriously into behaviour bordering on the criminal.

The power dynamic in a martial art training circumstance is also ripe for abuse. If the teacher isn't a person of high integrity, humility and humor, if he is hyper-aggressive and temperamental, it is easy for training to become abusive, an exercise in teacher domination rather than in martial training.

DO NOT attend a training group that is brand new except if you have very high references for the teacher of the new group from well-established and respected teachers of the art. Lone wolves are often very dangerous, which is why they are lone wolves.

Jesus also told his believers to buy a sword and when Jesus tore up the temple that was a violent act.

Let's recap.

Your pastor said that some of the martial arts have a spiritual side. He's probably right about that.

He didn't say that the kind you're interested was included.

He said to be careful. You obviously are willing to do that.

Conclusion: Although this probably does cause you some concern that you'd rather live without, you were only advised to be alert. If you are, and you find nothing to be concerned about, put it out of your mind.

The pastor was just passing along good advice and you took it.

When his disciple used the sword didn't he chastise him for it? all his apostles became martyrs because they learned from Jesus. It's a hard pill to swallow but we are all meant to be Lambs just as Jesus was, remember He said we should be wise as serpents but gentle as Lambs.
