Jesus said you would Know the tree by its fruit. He said nothing we eat would defile us but it is what comes out of us that defiles us, our words reflect what is in our heart. Have you had a harsh word or two for some one? I know I have. God also said the tongue was set on fire by hell itself, it could burn a whole forest to the ground.

Not everyone on this site that claims to be a Christian is.( I think I can say that because I am not pointing fingers or giving names). But in Church not everyone there is a child of God. Jesus spoke of this wolves in sheep clothing. So how do we know these people, by there Fruit. a Good tree can not produce bad fruit and a bad tree can not produce good fruit, Jesus said.

I know of a member on here who has been stalked by another member for 8 months. This member has asked the stalker to leave them alone, mods have ask the stalker to leave the person alone and still the stalker goes on. So I ask you is such a person a child of God? Is harassing People a Fruit of God? The stalker has issues clearly. SO what do I tell this person who is being stalk and the mods don't seem to be able to stop it? What would you tell the person? WHat would you say to the stalker. I know people put pictures of them self up and use there real names sometime, I would suggest you think again, as I have pointed out there is one stalker already I know of. This person has express to me they wish the stalker would show up at there House because then it would end(for the stalker) thing is you never know who your stalking. Some people would break the stalker arms and legs, then call the police. Lets not think of such things but you get my point.

So what advice do you give to the person being stalked, Should they leave the sight? I should mention stalking is against mans laws pretty sure it is against God's. So the stalker is sinning wildly. What advice do you have?

Could we look at stalking as a form of idolatry? If we stalk someone we clearly must be infatuated with them, this energy could probably be better spent towards Christ.

I never looked at it that way. I don't know what goes through a person head that has that problem, but I do believe you are right.

I was thinking about this topic and then I consulted Scripture and found something that seems relevant.

James 2:8-13 (NKJV)

8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well; 9 but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors. 10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. 11 For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty. 13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Think about this, stalking is partiality to one neighbor over another, if we are not loving our neighbor in an appropriate way (i.e. we are stalking them) this would appear to be sin. We would not want to be stalked ourselves, and we would also want others to treat us impartially. Definitely something to ponder.

I see The Holy Spirit is with us Brother, He also lead me to James, but I had this quote.

Drawing Close to God
4 What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you? 2 You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. 3 And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.

4 You adulterers![a] Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. 5 Do you think the Scriptures have no meaning? They say that God is passionate that the spirit he has placed within us should be faithful to him. 6 And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say,

“God opposes the proud
but gives grace to the humble.”[c]
7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. 9 Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.

You should start a thread in the Member Service Center. I can deal with the stalker, but I need to know who it is.

to my knowledge He commanded us to love, He never said we would have peace. Think Paul Loved those who cut off His head, but I would not say he had peace.

True enough.

1 Thessalonians 5:10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.

Didn't Jesus say i have not come to bring peace but a sword. A mans enemies will be from his own house, mother against daughter father against son?

Peace with our enemies was never part of the deal, Peace with Christ is.

BL,
I had a case of this, not nearly so long, when I moderated another forum before it's Admin. went New Age on his dad and I. When the stalker would not back off of his target I and Jeff confered, agreed and banned that person.

There are two valid points for the Christian being stalked;
1. They have been counted worthy to be tested, approved by God.
2, The net result, at the end of the trial will be God-like growth.

I don't know about this stalker but it sounds like something I'd get the moderators involved with, that kind of harassment is an obvious rules violation. As far as bearing fruit as a believer there can be no question, you must bear fruit or you have every reason to question if you are a Christian at all. Usually discussions of the fruit of the Holy Spirit indicate the peaceable fruits of righteousness, unless you quench the word of God in your heart, this will happen.

The hard truth is we don't really know who is saved and who is not, if you could invent a Holy Spirit detector it would be a lot easier. As far as things that cause Christians to shun another professing believer involves conduct, especially fornication and doctrine.

God's not recruiting fruit inspectors, the Holy Spirit has that job. I guess you could say a gift like Prophecy tends to be harsh and critical but from what I know of the Prophets you really don't want the job.

Grace and peace,
Mark

Peace with our enemies was never part of the deal, Peace with Christ is.

And that brings up a very good question...why is Christ referred to as the "prince of peace" when He clearly says "do not think I have come to bring peace? interesting

as not to deviate too much:

Proverbs 16:7 When the Lord takes pleasure in anyone’s way, he causes their enemies to make peace with them.
