Know any "secular" christian bands.

well, off the top of my head i can't think of any others as far as 'secular but have a christian walk'

i do know of christian bands that have crossed over into mainstream (Pillar, Switchfoot, POD), but i'm guessing that's not really what you're asking for...??

yes...that must be it...if a Christian band becomes popular...they are not longer Christian. STOP JUDGING THEM. Just because non-saved people like them, that does not mean they are secular. Arent we supposed to reach out to the lost???

Preach on. I think that it is great. However one thing that would make me sad is when people who weren't even into the music before will start acting like they know all about TD. I'm basically making that comment because this summer I got into an argument with someone who knows little to nothing about christian music who tried to tello me that Switchfoot isn't christian. In a lot of people's opinion they aren't now, but that wasn't debatable at that time. Sorry, I'm just a bit bitter and annoyed at certain people....

Creed took God's name in vain so they aren't christian? Oh look, I sinned, I'm not a christian anymore! I'm sorry, but even some of the Psalms appear at first glance to take God's name in vain...

And I can't say that Third Day are becoming secular just because their latest album isn't a worship album! at their concert in Britain a few months ago, following the release of wire, they were as God based as any band I've seen before, and I don't know on what you decide that they are somehow releasing their focus on God...

no. They took God's name in vain in one of their songs on "My Own Prison"

I'd suggest you double-check the context. IMO, the way in which they used it was not in vain.

Regardless, I confess, I've used God's name in vain a few times. That proves one thing; I'm human in need of a Savior. Not that I'm a non-Christian.

Evanescence.... maybe... maybe, maybe, maybe. That's a toughy.

AlterBridge... maybe. Probably.

i heard evanescence used to be a Christian band, but that didn't work for them and turned to secular (and now look where they are). i'm not saying they as people aren't Christians, i'm just saying they aren't a Christian band as such.

AND

My Own Prison:
I cry out to God
Seeking only His decision
Gabriel stands and confirms
I've created my own prison

sounds more like they're honoring God then using His name in vain. they're seeking only His decision... isn't that what we as Christians should be doing?

I believe fiveinjuly was refering to a song on their My Own Prison CD titled What's This Life For.

Scott Stapp now confesses to being a Christian, only says that while in Creed he was struggling with his personal beliefs. Creed wasn't a Christian band.

Bono of U2 is Catholic.

Marty Friedman of Megadeth professes to be a Christian. He played most of the guitars on the last Tourniquet CD "Where Moth And Rust Destroy"

The drummer for Iron Maiden is now a Christian

Kerry Livgren and Dave Hope of Kansas became Christians in the late 70's. This led to the lead singer quitting the band and he was replaced by John Elefante - also a Christian.

Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad is now a Christian

Alice Cooper is a Christian now too.
