How do you strive to keep a Christ-like attitude with your ex?

I find my patience constantly pushed to the limits and have a really hard time not letting the things he says or does get under my skin. In all honesty, I believe if it wasn't for the kids I would knock him down a peg or two. I pray and pray, but is there any thing else you have found helpful?

A couple of factors that I can think of that impact the reply to your question are:

- Ages of the kids
- Frequency of interactions
- Length of time passed since separation and/or divorce

Another influencing factor, of course, is the intent of the ex. IOW, are they doing/saying things to intentionally push buttons or are they just being themselves - which can sometimes be annoying enough. (sorry - had to inject some humor :sorry:)

It took me about 4 years to get to a point where I can more effectively "choose my battles" with my ex. I am also better about not reacting and keeping a level head even when it seems my ex is trying to push my buttons. I am also finally embracing the [sad] fact that I can't protect my kids from never feeling the pain of divorce...and that they will miss out on things or struggle with things b/c of the family dynamic they have been subjected to through the divorce.

If you have specific instances you are thinking of, you can always PM me to discuss. :)
