Keep making foolish mistakes

I'm trying so hard to be a good Born Again Christian but I keep making dumb mistakes and all I do is hurt myself all over again. It's ridiculous. I feel like a hypocrite calling myself a Christian.

No honey, you are not a hypocrite. Christians aren't perfect, their just forgiven.. We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. When the devil leaves you alone, then there is a reason to worry. You are a child of the King. Look up, the angels raise there wings in praise, their is a new soul in the kingdom of God. If I had a penny for evertime I failed Him or made a mistake, I would be the richest woman in America. It's gonna be alright.

Just wanted you to know that you are not alone in making mistakes. We all do them. You feeling bad about making them is the Holy Spirit speaking to your heart. The HS is our guide in life. What you need to keep in mind is that although it is not ok to sin before God, he knows that we will and has made provisions for us. He sent Jesus to die for us. Opening up forgiveness to us. Can you believe that? He forgives us!!! Don't be discouraged, just learn from your mistakes and make God your priority in your next step in life.

Here is some scriptures for you. I hope you can take some comfort in them. Remember God knows us and knows our inner most feelings, thoughts before we even know them. And despite all of that, He continues to surround us with His loving arm of protection.

Psalm 139: 1-14
1 O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

I can't. I feel like such a liar.

In the pit of my stomach the truth is I want my ex back. I'm not even sure its because I love him but I feel like I can't find anyone else. I'm jealous of his new partner and hope for the day I hear they have split up. Every day i hear they're still together and happy it eats me up. I am jealous, I am envious, I think bad thoughts so how can I be a Christian?

Well I agree with the other members here. We all make mistakes. There is no way around that. The only PERFECT Person (Christian) to ever walk the Earth was Jesus himself.

Now I am not sure what to say regarding your ex and his new partner but I would definiately be asking God about it. He has all the answers when we all fall short of His amazing glory and love.

I know how it feels sometimes to think there is no one else out there. The truth of the matter is that God has someone out there for all of us. It might just take a little longer than expected to find that person.

Well Newbeliever, you have been working hard, a note of encouragement well done for what youve written.

CordieLaLa, I two agree with what many have put, we are all sinners, we all make mistakes and yes we all get dragged down at times feeling we are a failure because we still can't stop making mistakes. Not one Christian can turn around, if they are a true Christian and say I never make mistakes or I never do anything wrong. If they did say that I really would be questioning there beliefs. I know you feel down about it, and we all do at times, but rather than looking at our downfalls as something negative, look at it as Gods teaching us different things, the good and the bad, the hurdles and the battles. Its actually a good thing that you feel like this, as it actually shows God is showing you things in your life. If consciously you didn't feel this at times, that would be when it starts to get worrying. Take my word for it. Don't be negative just look at it as God is in your life and teaching you things.

Lord I pray you'll bring this into reality in Cordie's life, bring understanding, and comfort in the fact that this is all part of walking with God. I pray also against thoughts of failure, as thats totally untrue, and bring thoughts of positiveness, that they are just the same as any other Christian. Amen
