;) I just love kayaking! Its a really refreshing experience. To me it helps me feel closer to god, when ever im around nature i allways feel closer to him. I dont live close to any major rivers but when ever i get a chance im out there. Ive been kayaking sense i was a little girl and i just love it. I really wana ask my parents to let me go down rapids with my cousin. I love feeling the water rush around me. Does any one else really enjoy kayaking!?!?

never done it, looks like fun and a good work out though. I have too much of an overactive imagination, I'm paranoid of sharks and snapping turtles. :help: So I think I'd be happier in a 16 foot aluminum fishing boat.

Kayaked once in Morro Bay, California when I was younger. It's a protected bay on the coast, so no waves or anything. Went out to the sand dunes protecting the bay, got out and climbed the dunes. On the other side the waves were breaking on the beach. There's also an estuary you can paddle up and explore.

yeah i totally love kayaking! i come from finland, which is a country with a stunning archipelago! most finns own an old fashioned cottage in the archipelago and we tend to spend most part of our summer holidays there.

near our summer house (in larsmo, ostrebothnia. west coast of finland) they rent ut kayaks really really cheap  it's free for the first time, the next 4 times you pay 10€ per go and then you're a member of the local kayaking society and you can go kayaking whenever you want to. it's almost better than having your own kayak, it's cheaper and you don't have to worry about taking care of the kayak yourself.

i go out kayaking for 3 hours or so when i go. it's very relaxing and very very beautiful. you get a nice tan and yes - feel a lot closer to God ;)

first learned to kayak and canoe as a child in texas, love it! My dad always had to watch the river reports though. Much easier to raft in Colo.or Calif. I haven't been whitewatered for 3 years.Maybe, next year.I'm expecting a child this year so its out of the question.

Kayaking is so much fun, much more enjoyable than canoeing. I just learned how to last summer, and I love it. I haven't been on a river yet, but I hope to sometime soon; we almost bought kayaks this year, because they were on sale, but we found out about the sale on the last day, so we couldn't go back after we thought about it. Eh, sometime. :) But out on the water, it's so much more calm ... and peaceful, and beautiful ... *drifts off into a reverie*

We were just there a couple of weeks ago! It was fun. You definitely have to go in the morning, as the winds in the afternoon pick up and you make no progress at all! We watched all kinds of human-powered watercraft trying to work against the wind. It looked exhausting! So we went the next morning!
