He didn't say he always had clear memories from the nights he was drunk. He said he had no blackouts.
Dr. Ford's own lifelong friend ALSO said she has no memory of the party, nor having ever met Kavenaugh. And Judge's comments are under risk of perjury, as with everyone else who wrote a written statement claiming not to know of this party.
He was corroborated along the entire process. Many witnesses to Kavanaugh's character and activities, regularly working out, playing sports, et cetera. She, on the other hand, has NO corroborating evidence or anything regarding her claims.
They did investigate it. The FBI did release a statement after Feinstein sent the FBI the letter. Their letter stated that the matter is closed. All the FBI would do is take statements and report what each party stated. That's it. They did investigate the claims. Demanding more investigation is just a smokescreen to delay the confirmation, and I believe you're smart enough to realize this. You only side with Dr. Ford because you don't like Kavanaugh and don't want him appointed. NONE of the accusations have any merit or evidence or corroboration. The burden of proof was on her to prove her case, and she failed to do it.It's hardly surprising that the friend wouldn't recall details from a party 36 years back since there wasn't anything memorable that happened to her. Entirely different for Dr. Blasey Ford. That same friend has insisted, adamantly, that she believes her.
What on earth does him regularly working out, playing sports, have to do with whether he did what the three women who've accused him said he did? She has many witnesses to her character too. She was a cheerleader & a swimmer. Friends remember that she'd been a social butterfly then "socially fell off the face of the planet" which lines up with how the victim of a sexual assault would act.
Again, the accusers are the ones who have pushed for the allegations. If Kavanaugh's innocent as he claims, he should not only welcome but DEMAND that they investigate. It's bullcrap that they can't or don't investigate this.
I do. I remember him specifically stating he was never too drunk that he never recalled anything. If you choose to not believe him, you have that right, but how much is 'too much' alcohol is relative to the individual. It's not for anyone but Judge Kavanaugh to say whether or not he was ever inebriated beyond the point of blacking out.Is that what you deduce from Mitchell's line of questioning?

This is over. Even several Democrats have already stated they are voting yes for Kavanaugh. That's how much of a case he has. He won. He will be confirmed.

When the transcript was in the other thread, I don't recall reading a definitive answer to the negative; simply an "I don't know".I do. I'm glad to make you laugh, but you're certainly not siding with integrity in this case. I don't know what you have against Kavanaugh, but from any perspective, there's zero evidence against Kavanaugh. Zero. Zilch. We're innocent until proven guilty in this country. That's the standard we need to operate by.No Saucy, the FBI has not investigated the allegations, plural, about Kavanaugh. Saucy I side with integrity, not with Kavanaugh or his accusers. Now you can keep on pulling as many assumptions out of your rear end as you please about me, but it just makes me laugh.
So to clarify: You believe that Ford is LYING or simply that it could have happenned/ did happen but she doesn't have evidence for it.I'm glad to make you laugh, but you're certainly not siding with integrity in this case. I don't know what you have against Kavanaugh, but from any perspective, there's zero evidence against Kavanaugh. Zero. Zilch. We're innocent until proven guilty in this country. You quoted it yourself in your second post. That isn't what he stated in testimony today. The transcript is available for you to prove otherwise. See the 1st post.
You'll note that he used the wrong phrasing in answering that question. He was asked if he'd EVER been black out drunk, but Kavanaugh is implying (at BEST) but seems to be referring to the "one instance" in question. You quoted it yourself in your second post.
Was there ever a time when you drank so much that you couldn’t remember what happened, or part of what happened the night before?
KAVANAUGH: No, I — no. I remember what happened, and I think you’ve probably had beers, Senator, and — and so I…

Honestly, I felt she was believable and something happened to her. But she was drunk and short of memory. It could very well be a case of mistaken identity, as two men have come forward claiming to be the ones who did this. As I stated, no one questioned her about her drinking activities, how often she got drunk, etc. I don't know if she was lying. So to clarify: You believe that Ford is LYING or simply that it could have happenned/ did happen but she doesn't have evidence for it.

No, he also said no about that too. You'll note that he used the wrong phrasing in answering that question. He was asked if he'd EVER been black out drunk, but Kavanaugh is implying (at BEST) but seems to be referring to the "one instance" in question.
He pulled this Nathan Thurm shtick several times during his testimony didn't he.....later:
KLOBUCHAR: OK. Drinking is one thing, but the concern is about truthfulness, and in your written testimony, you said sometimes you had too many drinks. Was there ever a time when you drank so much that you couldn’t remember what happened, or part of what happened the night before?
KAVANAUGH: No, I — no. I remember what happened, and I think you’ve probably had beers, Senator, and — and so I…
KLOBUCHAR: So you’re saying there’s never been a case where you drank so much that you didn’t remember what happened the night before, or part of what happened.
KAVANAUGH: It’s — you’re asking about, you know, blackout. I don’t know. Have you?
KLOBUCHAR: Could you answer the question, Judge? I just — so you — that’s not happened. Is that your answer?
KAVANAUGH: Yeah, and I’m curious if you have.
KLOBUCHAR: I have no drinking problem, Judge.
KAVANAUGH: Yeah, nor do I.
KLOBUCHAR: OK, thank you.
You have just as much limited perspective as I do, yet you seem to think you're above us all with your infinite wisdom.I'm glad you're glad you continue to make me chuckle. Yes, I am standing with integrity, Saucy. Sorry you cannot see that from your limited perspective.
Do you think the women who've made the allegations against Kavanaugh are innocent until proven guilty of lying? Do you think that standard only applies on one side? In courts of law one is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty. Saucy, Kavanugh is essentially applying for a job. One that once he gets he can't just be fired for like you can with other jobs. It's head up the rear end stupid, totally lacking in responsibility, to not investigate the allegations now.
