Not really... religions like Christianity are more focused on making the message available to all, while Gnosticism and Kabbalah tend to exclude people who might not be able to attain to the understanding of it.  That's what I meant.

No, it's a mystical branch of Judaism.  I dunno, maybe like Catholicism is a branch of Christianity.  Bad analogy but I can't think of any mystical stuff.

Kabbalah does have, as Simchat said, occult versions which are kind of a separate religion.  Involves charms and magic and stuff.  That is considered Jewish, but really isn't when you look at it.

Christianity has many many many many doctrines that can not be explained but are accepted merely by "faith".

Also, you'll have to pardon my bad use of "kabbalah" as a religion... I was merely pointing out that every religion has "secret truths". Whether you are speaking of religions, sects of religions, or philosophies... the same applies to my statement.
