  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That would apply to every religion... not just Kabbalah or gnosticism.

Not really... religions like Christianity are more focused on making the message available to all, while Gnosticism and Kabbalah tend to exclude people who might not be able to attain to the understanding of it.  That's what I meant.

So is Kabbalah it's own religion?
I am kinda confused now...

No, it's a mystical branch of Judaism.  I dunno, maybe like Catholicism is a branch of Christianity.  Bad analogy but I can't think of any mystical stuff.

Kabbalah does have, as Simchat said, occult versions which are kind of a separate religion.  Involves charms and magic and stuff.  That is considered Jewish, but really isn't when you look at it.

Christianity has many many many many doctrines that can not be explained but are accepted merely by "faith".

Also, you'll have to pardon my bad use of "kabbalah" as a religion... I was merely pointing out that every religion has "secret truths". Whether you are speaking of religions, sects of religions, or philosophies... the same applies to my statement.
