  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I didn't say you, but you have many Christians on one hand whining about abortion, while on other hand doing more to contribute to abortion then anyone else.

Realy, who contributes to abortion more than the man and woman who takes no responsibility for themselves, who cant take a few minutes to take precautions

I'm not the one laughing about judgment, that would be you.....kill me tsk tsk now,i can report you for that but then you are the protected species here not me.....whatever happens to me is not your concern and you will have no part in it.
Oh yes you are, yu are quiet gleefully there speaking about the destruction of the US if it doesn't listen to you, everyone can see it, don't even pretend your not, that definetly doesn't put you in good light, especially if your wrong, because quiet frankly if god hasn't destroyed the dozen or so other nations worse then the US, all you has is the normal empty rhetoric that so many have.

The ones that tell them not to use precaution because they will get aids and die, or such, those like the pope that will tell africa to not use condoms condeming many to death. Those that fight against anything htat helps poor people get out of their predicments like the republicans anything of that sort, need I go on?

A good light ? I don't think advocating tearing babies apart in the womb and tossing them in dumpsters puts anyone in a good light either.....believe me in the context of this issue I couldn't care less what is thought of me by anyone who supports abortion.

Empty rhetoric ? the bible accounts of judgment is empty rhetoric.

If you would be so good as to answer the question I asked I will be happy to respond to your inquiry.

I don't know the answer to your question because this is not my area of expertise. But there is a lot of rhetoric from both candidates on this issue. Clinton says that she doesn't want a court who would overturn Roe v Wade and Trump says that he does. The media does not seem to be seriously challenging either of these positions. I don't know how simple or complicated it would be for the SCOTUS to do something like that even if they wanted to.

Now that's empty rhetoric....everybody is responsable but the people who are responsible.....its always somebody elses fault.

Fair enough. I would counsel you then to ask some questions of the experts in this area because the understanding I have come to is that it will be very difficult no matter who is in the court. Both candidates are, after all, politicians exaggerating in order to get your vote.

In answer to your query, yes mandating vaccines is interfering in medical decisions. As is forcing parents to take other life saving actions. The difference between the two is that there is an argument for the greater good that is applied to vaccines. Since enough people not getting vaccines could negatively impact society as a whole the courts have held that the government has a vested interest in regulation that overrides the right to privacy. Since a fetus is not considered a person with rights by the court no such argument for the greater good is applied by the courts.

It is when there are many nations far worse that god does nothing about, but you some how assume that you know THIS time god will do something, didn't with hitler, musalini, mao, ghadafi, the crusades, the dozens of inquisitions, the witch trials, but don't worry THIS time he will because of abortion, funny how god always hates the very thing his self proclaimed prophets hate, for others it's gay mariage, or just gays, for you it's abortion. killing thousands of jews is okay, or Christians in another country, but abortion is where he draws the lines?

Just curious - would you support legislation that mandated the full CDC vaccination recommendation? Even if such legislation meant that children could become wards of the state if parents refuse?

So whose more responsible? The guy that doesn't wear condoms because Christians told him wearing it would give him aids, or the guys telling him it will give him aids?

Here's a piece from the Huffington Post about the possibility of overturning Roe v Wade - click

Are they wrong?

About what? That both candidates made claims? No. I am certain they did. However you will note the piece made no claims on the actual viability of it happening.

It depends, if there was something like the zombie plague or the next bublonic, or even ebola going through the country, and everyone being vaccinated means more people would survive?

You havn't "backed up" any of yours except in your own mind in which I'm sure you are legendary....you run along now.
I've not made any claims in this thread. You said there were lessons not learned from the 20th century. What does abortion have to do with what happened in the 20th century?

That seems a bit drastic. In this particular hypothetical I think I would be opposed as there seems much more sensible ways to go about this.
