I've never claimed that America was a Christian nation. Yahweh is sovereign over all the nations. He establishes one and roots up another. If any nation blesses him he will bless that nation. If any nation despises him for long enough he will uproot that nation.

really? Where is god uprooting the nations wich child soldiers, where christians are killed every day and so on, but abortion....yeah every other horrible thing he's fine with but abortion puts him over the edge.

Before you point a finger and say the US deserves god's wrath might want to look at many others.

It could happen in various different ways, but I basically everything from greatly diminishing the power, prosperity, and security of a nation to the complete elimination of a nation from the face of the earth.

I hear this line a lot from the pro-choice side and Hillary even uses it often. I don't think it's quite this simple. Abortion issues cannot neatly be reduced to "medical decisions". Everyone would probably agree to a statement like "the government has no business inserting itself into medical decisions". The problem is that pro-life people see this as much bigger than a medical decision just like euthanasia or even the death penalty cannot be reduced to a medical decision. This is also a decision about the government's responsibility to protect human life.

Ironically the same people that use this line typically tend to side with the government when it wants to legally impose full vaccination requirements and the like. Isn't that the government inserting itself into medical decisions?

i´m still not quite sure what "eliminating a nation" means. Does it merely mean that the nation as a concept is destroyed, or does it mean that teh people inhabiting it are "destroyed"? Or both, or something else?

Well it's happened plenty of times in the past. So I suppose the best way to understand it would be to look at the occasions when Yahweh has done this very thing. I think of the northern kingdom of Israel, the southern kingdom of Judah, the kingdoms of Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome, etc...

Some of these nations have something of a heritage today but they are nothing compared to what they were at the height of their power.
