  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Just wondering

Well, I've seen guys being ostracized as "nerds" for not liking sports, receiving above-average grades, being shy and/or reading for fun - in any given combination of these.

And the clumsiness refered to the *feeling* a shy person gets when s/he approaches a taxing situation. That uncomfortable sense of self-consciousness.

I recieved a 2/5 on that. I dont like sports, My grades are mediocre, I'm quiet but not shy, I enjoy reading (albiet, maybe a little too much.) and I can enter a taxing sitaution calmly and confidently... Ah, who an I kidding, I cant go up in front of the class but its mainly becuase I didnt do my work on time. Hey! theres something, we practice procrastination like its the law.

Little Jo,

If you're looking for places to get published online, be sure to check out AssociatedContent.com. It's a great site with a great community of writers. I write for them and have learned so much, while also blowing out my online portfolio. I usually earn $3 to $15 per submission.

Hope you check them out...

All of us in my school greet each other with that handshake, you know the one where you slide your palm against the other persons and then ram your knuckles against each others. If you want specific personality trait of features, give me some background on your character, does he even have a name? I'm gonna bet his parents are divorced, like almost everybody else's, am I right?

hmmm, the "handshake" would be nice, I think I'll use that. Though I've never seen it done. His parents aren't really divorced, but they're not getting along very well. But they aren't protagonists, so it doesn't really matter.

Here's the background kinda for him. It's changed alot so far :D

Name: Derek Frost
Gender: Male (duh)
Age: 15

Appearance:
Stands 5'6", has dark brown skin, dark brown eyes, black hair, short eyelashes, normal (as is average) stature.

Personality:
Likes to read (I had to have him like to read, it seems so logical) play video games, watch soccer, and other stuff that I'm not yet sure. I can't decide though if he should be loud or quiet, shy around people. I don't think so, because ALL of my characters tend to be as I am. I think that he will.....or won't. I also can't decide on what his habbits should be. Like you said, should he talk really fast, really slow, should he bite his nails? Like I said, he's a flat character. I also haven't had much time to work this past month. But one of these days I'll put in something I've written and see what you all think.

Hah hah! Just add glasses to him and you'll have described me to a ! Flatness can actually be a good thing. Make him so inconspicuos that when he does something major or out of character, it'll be a suprise to everyone.

Well, I might do that, but right now he is flatter then a ran over pancake stuck to a wheel. So I think I'll blow him up a little.

Not doing, when I have more time, I shall type up the two different stories with the same character. Being a chef doesn't really work, but maybe.... actually it might. But that might be to much. Maybe he'll help the cook or something. But I've got about 5 minutes tonight, so it'll have to wait.
