I remember this one, Rich!
I always liked it. You know the movie 'Grease'? The kids sing something similar to this at the end of the movie. Well, our lad knows it all off by heart and can sing it all with them, even though it's quite fast.

We love this song and we use the melody in this vid too, Rich. But in the third line, just say it's in the key of D, we go to F# then Bm, rather than staying in D right through. Our kids love singing it and they sound pretty good.

One of my favourite songs of all time.
Just the other day our girl, who's going to be 18 this year, said "Let's play Puff the Magic Dragon' on the piano, Mum." It was the first song I taught her to play when she was about 6. She learned the melody and I played an accompaniment. It always makes me though.....

I'm good, thanks, Dawn. It's coolish over here, but not really that cold cos we've had lots of rain instead of frosts lately. If the wind is blowing it can be pretty daunting, but otherwise it's ok. I guess around 4 C or so. Only a few weeks till Spring for us......

Not too busy of a day for me at all today. Tomorrow is my retirement luncheon, then Wednesday I'll start packing up my office, Thursday another easy day. Next week the FBI will be in Delaware auditing. Then next Thursday is my last day

Our girl has a workmate, a woman in her 30's or so, who said that if she ever wins the Big Lottery thing here in NZ, that she'll shout our girl and me a trip to wherever we want. Course we said 'The States!!!' She seemed to mean it too.....but the odds are something like 30 million to one.

There are so many places here I want to see. For the most part, we have a beautiful country. I can't wait to get back on the road and see it. If you get the opportunity, please come and visit. Not many people agree with me but I think our nations capitol is a beautiful town.

Well, our kids always used to say 'The States!!!' if we dreamed about travel. I used to want to go first to England, but have changed my mind. Could that be cos you ones in CF who live there have posted such wonderful pics of the States? I'd like to see New England and Vermont and Pennsylvania.....the Rocky Mountains and.....oh, all sorts. New York and Disneyland.....Philadelphia. I really want to see Philadelphia for some reason. Cos of the Rocky films, I think.....how silly is that?

Philadelphia is a nice city too. I was there a lot when my father was in the hospital there. We rode by those "Rocky" steps every time we went to Philly. The people of Philly have a unique way of driving Roads that have two lanes become one-lane because the right lane is used for extra parking 
I love mountains, I think because I'm a flatlander. The Rockies are beautiful. I got to see them for the first time in February.

That sounds so funny.
We have 'meter maids' who prowl everywhere ticketing you all the time for parking where you shouldn't. Yes, I saw a couple of photos you posted, Dawn.
Some of the scenery over there is just so....huge.....so grand.....we can't really envisage the size of your country at all, or the number of people living there. NZ has just over 4 million people altogether.

You have a few less people than the whole state of Maryland. js, when David and I went to the SouthWest I was so amazed of the wide open spaces. I see nothing but growth where I live. Out there you can be on a highway and look both ways as far as you can see and see nothing but buttes and tumble weeds. I love that.

Not even as big as one state. We've watched films set in the States where the road goes on and on and on forever in a straight line.....kinda scary in a way to me. We're just not used to that at all. Folk here can be at the beach in an hour or so, no matter where they live in NZ. I tend to think my parents live a long way away at 200 miles distant.
