Well, I like you too mle and everyone else in this thread. Wisdom seeker was saying how she couldnt find anywhere to post that she would fit in...I find the same problem, not because I am a scholar (far from it) but, this seems to be the only thread where I do fit in. This is a thread that is Non judgmental, nobody here in this thread argues. I find I dont fit in anywhere else...I have tried, but after posting in threads and not getting many responses..it is dis heartning.
I have wanted to quit christian forums so many times in the past, but something always draws me back...it is this thread. I love the people in this thread.

Anyway, on a lighter note...I mowed the grass for the first time this season...it was getting out of hand. The bad part about mowing is that my allergies act up. My husband ran the weed eater, so my allergies were quite bad, we were sitting on our deck with our daughters...my youngest daughter got her first guitar in today and we we were having a good time with the guitar and all of a sudden my right eye was so watery and burning, I couldnt hold it open. My husband has been learning to play a guitar for a few months now..my youngest daughter wanted to learn but she couldnt use his guitar...she is a lefty. The prices of a lefty guitar are so much more than a righty. Dave (my husband) did teach the girls how to play the first half of Amazing Grace. He taught me a couple of weeks ago...I want to learn to play the rest of it...its a beautiful song.

I have rambled on plenty, I am sure.

I'm the on-duty person here at my office today, the second (here in Israel) intermediate day of Passover. Other than just being here (in case something happens) & gathering dust, I have nought to do but drink Turkish coffee & catch up on my email.

Mmm, indeed (thank God), it's going OK so far. We had a very nice Seder at Wendy's cousins' in Meitar (see my previous post): lots of praying/learning & eating. In synagogues in the Diaspora yesterday, the reading from the Prophets was II Kings 23:1-9/21-25, about the righteous King Josiah ("who turned to the Lord with all his heart, and with all his soul and with all his might, according to all the Torah of Moses") and the great Passover that he kept in Jerusalem. The righteous King Hezekiah (Josiah's greatgrandfather) also kept a great Passover in Jerusalem. So why do we read about the one and not the other? As II Chronicles 30 tells us, King Hezekiah sent messengers throughout the Land urging the people:

You children of Israel, return to the Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, that He may return to the remnant that are escaped of you out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.

And do not be like your fathers, and like your brethren, who acted treacherously against the Lord, the God of their fathers, so that He delivered them to be an astonishment, as you see. Now do not be stiffnecked, as your fathers were; but yield yourselves unto the Lord, and enter into His sanctuary, which He has sanctified for ever, and serve the Lord your God, that His fierce anger may turn away from you. For if you return to the Lord, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that led them captive, and shall come back into this land; for the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away His face from you, if you return unto Him.

Whereas

many of [the tribes of] Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulun humbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem

and

lso in [the tribe of] Judah was the hand of God to give them one heart, to do the commandment of the king and of the princes by the word of the Lord

, we read that

the posts passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, even unto Zebulun; but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them.

...but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them.

This is shocking. Here are King Hezekiah's messengers, urging the people to repent and return to God, only to be met with jeering laughter, scorn and mockery. (Unfortunately, this mindset is not unknown today.) We do not wish to call attention to such a shameful episode by reading it publicly in synagogue; thus, we read about King Josiah's Passover, not King Hezekiah's.

Great to hear from you again SSV. Our holidays starts tomorow. I hope that it will be better that last year. Every year at this time people start traveling to their holiday destinations and hundreds die on the road. I would appreciate any prayers from this and the other forums.

FP, I'm sorry you feel the way you do about CF but I have had nasty people tell me nasty things here too. Mostly, I tend to stay away from that area now. You come on anywhere here in the Friendship Court, we don't argue anything!

It may be too late to point this out since you already bought the lefty guitar, but all you need to do is put the strings in the other way around. It'll look funny with the scratch guard (or whatever you call it) on top but it should be ok for learning.

Now that I've made you feel bad about spending too much money, let's see if I can't say something encouraging.

The second half is almost exactly like the first half. The only difference is the last 3 chords.

So, if you can do the first half it should be easy to learn the second half.

We had discussed doing that, but she wanted a lefty and wouldnt have it any other way. So, she got the lefty. It is amazing to see her with that guitar...she has cleaned it numerous times...it probably even has a name. hehe.

What a beautiful day. The sun has been shining and we finnished dinner with friends. I made roasted rosemarry orange chicken, garlic carrots, broccoli, and roasted potatos and apple pie for dessert. It was good! Taylor is putting sam to bed and i have some quiet time now to enjoy myself. I hope all of you are doing well.
I wore an Indian outfit to church today. We have a mostly white church so I got some comments like that's an interesting outfit, very pink. Other people were commented in a kind and encouraging way. It was fun. I was not expecting so much attention for my outfit. It is also interesting that I wore that outfit today because it is a very big holiday for the Sihk community. I think it is the celebration of spring and fertility.

How was your Easter/Passover?

I hope we can still keep this thread going. My Easter was great. My oldest daughter, that doesn't attend church, came to church with me. I keep praying that she will turn back to the Lord.

We have had several beautiful days here in slower, lower Delaware USA. Today I think the temp went up to 70 at least. Yesterday I cut my grass for the second time this season. I have a holly bush in my front yard that mockingbirds are building a nest in, this bush is right in front of one of my bedroom windows, they really wake up early in the morning!

I've missed ssv also recently. I pray everything is well with him.

The weather has been beautiful up in this region, hasn't it? I live in upstate Pennsylvania...today it got in the mid 70s for the second day in a row. Quite a change from the *usual* rain and cold. In fact, this morning it was in the 20s, but ended up to be shorts/tshirt/sandals weather. Sadly it wasn't this nice for Easter...in fact, it was plain gloomy on Easter, what with it being in the 40s and drizzly.

You've got that right. They wake up at 3 am. I get up at 4 am to get ready for work but I would appreciate that hour from 3 to 4!
