CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm sorry about your friend.
I have been home all week. I have cabin fever. The sun has been shining but the whole family has had the flu and the little one had the chicken pox.
I spent most of the week holding my baby. We never left the couch one day. A way I can count my blessings and be thankful is that I was able to read a lot.
Church tomorrow. I hope we are well enough to go. I miss it. I didn't go last week because I had to take care of baby.
Pray for us if you can.

Hi all!
It's 17:50 here in Israel. I'm at my desk.
Whew! Our Passover cleaning is finished! I'm waiting her for Wendy, her Mom & Da Boyz to pick me up & then we're off to a restaurant (that specializes in Mexican-style grilled-over-hot-coals-while-u-watch chicken) for dinner. Restaurants, fastfood joints, food courts at the malls, etc. will be mobbed tonight; who wants to cook on the night before Passover?
So, we're off to Wendy's cousins in Meitar http://tinyurl.com/2n233 for the Passover Seder http://www.jewfaq.org/holidaya.htm tomorrow evening. We'll drive via the road that runs along the western shore of the Dead Sea http://tinyurl.com/ywbot. I love the scenery on that road.
I don't know how often I'll be able to be online over the next few days.

I joined another board the other day. And when I logged on today, one of the administrators told me that another administrator in doing some type of work with the computer program that deleted everything I ever said. I mean..I've been censored before. But to blame a computer glitch on deleting only what I said, while leaving everything everyone else said? I went to a lot of work to post what I thought were well thought out and varifyable accounts of religious history, with links and references. I never posted an adversarial opinion. I was just sharing what I've been passionately learning about for years. Wasn't like just "Hi, how's the weather" .......They silenced me. I don't know how to feel about that.

That sounds really strange! Just your posts, weird. I think I'd pull out of that place. I was on another christian board before I found CF and there were no moderators so anyone said anything and no one stopped them. I really didn't like it there at all and I'm so glad I found CF!

I like C.F. But it's not very strong in my field of study, religious history. I've tried to discuss religious history here...but not many people really know much about it. And the ones who do...are a little more opininionated/biased than historically accurate. Which leads to less discussion and more. .... well, hard to put a name on it. But it's not for me. I'm a scholar, I'm not trying to conform anyone to agree. It's not about my opinion...it's about sharing knowledge and discovery for me. I thought I found that at this other place. But...guess not.
Ever wonder if God maybe wants us to keep things in? I've been thwarted at every attempt to share my findings. This wasn't the first time I've been censored. But unfortunately, that doesn't make it easier. It still feels like a slap in the face. We American's are so spoiled. To be a woman, and to be able to study and speak of what we've studied? I guess I'm just not used to being silenced. It's a horrid experience. I'm grateful it isn't part of my every day existance. I would not want to live like that.

I've gone in General Apologetics here a few times and tried to "spread the Gospel" and you get a lot of nasty responses, so you tend to give up. That's probably not the right thing to do...it's hard work in GA talking to some of the people in there. Then I spend time in P/R/E but not in the heavy discussions because I'm not as knowledgable as most of them in there, I like to learn.
