  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Many Christians seem to believe "judgment day" is some future day where God will judge the world.

However, I think this is a false doctrine since the bible clearly tells us that God judges people every day.
Psalm7:11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry [with the wicked] every day.

A day to God is one eternal day. It is not a 24 hour day on earth. It is as a thousand years and also like yesterday which has already passed.

2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Psalm90:4 For a thousand years in thy sight [are but] as yesterday when it is past, and [as] a watch in the night.

The Father judges no man.
John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

Jesus judges no man.
John 8:15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

Who does the judging ?
You do.
1 Cor 6:3-4 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.

Matt 12:37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Your own words judge you daily. Those of you who confess you are imperfect, and continue to sin really ought to change your ways according to your own confession.

Matt 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

God does not ask you to do something without giving you the ability to do as He asks.

1 John 1:8 "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us."

Only Jesus was ever perfect here on earth. God may give us that ability, but He knows that no one, not one of us ever will fulfill it. We show our faith and love for God by doing the best we can and know he will cover the rest.

Ephesians 2:8-9
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - so that no one can boast."

If mankind has the ability to be perfect on our own, and needs not direct divine intervention, then Christ's sacrifice was meaningless. He came forth to fulfill the law because we could not. And perfection is a work by the way. If you could be perfect, you could be boastful of it, because it would be your doing. Setting an example is not the same as intervening, so if one merely was perfect because they were inspired by Christ, my (quite possibly flawed) interpretation is that they would actually earn heaven by way of their own virtue and without God's assistance.

As I said God does not ask you to do something without giving you the ability to do as He asks.

If God gives you the ability, what makes you believe He knows that no one, not one of us ever will fulfill it. ?
He knows you can do His will if you choose to do it because He gave you the ability to do it. God does not tell you to do something He knows you will never do. What would be the point of asking you to do something He knew you would never do ?
You are deluding yourself if you believe God knows that no one will fulfill his commands or do His will. God knows who will and who will not. Jesus did and his followers do likewise because they live and walk in the Spirit of God and crucify their own flesh daily.

God made you perfect in the beginning. Perfection is not something you attain. It is what you are. You are as perfect as He made you. No vessel can make themselves any better than the potter made it. You delude yourself if you think you are not good enough. You basically claim the potter made an imperfect vessel if you think you are imperfect.

Wake up from your sleep. Stop dreaming about what you might be and accept yourself as you are. You are a child of God who is created in His perfect image. Be what He created you to be and live like the child of God which you are instead of trying to be something else. Make the Father proud by doing the same as what He does.

1 John 1:8 "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us."

Regarding this scripture. The ability to sin or sin itself is in all people. It was even in Jesus but having sin in you does not automatically mean you must sin. The sin is in you to test you just like it tested Jesus. It is in you to give you something to overcome so you can be an overcomer like Jesus is. If you had nothing within you to overcome, how could you ever become an overcomer or have your faith tried and tested ? What would you need to overcome ?

To say I do not sin is not the same as saying I have no sin in me.
Think of sin like a coat in your wardrobe. You can have a coat in your wardrobe and never wear it. It might tempt you to wear it if you get cold or want some comfort or something but you need to overcome the temptation to wear it. You can have sin in you and still never sin like you can have a coat in your wardrobe and never wear it. Wear the cloak of righteousness instead. It is far better than the coat of sin.

Wow, so Christ was wrong when He spoke in Mt 12:36?

Psalm7:11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry [with the wicked] every day.

A day to God is one eternal day. It is not a 24 hour day on earth. It is as a thousand years and also like yesterday which has already passed.

2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Psalm90:4 For a thousand years in thy sight [are but] as yesterday when it is past, and [as] a watch in the night.
Wow.. What does defining a day have to do with a Psalm? You do know the expressed intentions of the book of Psalms do you not? If so why have you used a passage from this book out of it's intended context?

The Father judges no man.
John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

Jesus judges no man.
John 8:15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
Wow.... I am running out of shock... how far out of context do you have to be force this false doctrine? I have never seen someone so bold as to not even take a full verse to drive a point. You literally took 1/2 of a verse because the full verse would have destroyed the point you were making let alone put that verse into it's proper context. 13 So the Pharisees said to Him, “(N)You are testifying about Yourself; Your testimony is not [b]true.” 14 Jesus answered and said to them, “(O)Even if I testify about Myself, My testimony is [c]true, for I know (P)where I came from and where I am going; but (Q)you do not know where I come from or where I am going. 15 (R)You judge [d]according to the flesh; (S)I am not judging anyone. 16 But even (T)if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone in it, but I and the Father who sent Me. 17 Even in (U)your law it has been written that the testimony of (V)two men is [e]true. 18 I am He who testifies about Myself, and (W)the Father who sent Me testifies about Me.” 19 So they were saying to Him, “Where is Your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither Me nor My Father; (X)if you knew Me, you would know My Father also.” 20 These words He spoke in (Y)the treasury, as (Z)He taught in the temple; and no one seized Him, because (AA)His hour had not yet come.

As you can plainly see by the context, Christ was Specifically talking to the Pharisees about a very Specific judgement... Not what you have twisted these words to mean.

Who does the judging ?
You do.
1 Cor 6:3-4 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
Seriously????? Read the context!! It's about lawsuits, not about our final judgement...

Matt 12:37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Let these words ring in your ear on that day.

Your own words judge you daily. Those of you who confess you are imperfect, and continue to sin really ought to change your ways according to your own confession.

Matt 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

God does not ask you to do something without giving you the ability to do as He asks
It's a good thing you are only here exploring Christianity and not trying to teach it yet. For "By Thy Words, you would be Condemned." Because as I have shown your word thoughts and deeds are far from perfect. You have misrepresented and down right butchered the scriptures to push a doctrine that directly conflicts the words of Christ himself.

Remember:
God does not ask you to do something without giving you the ability to do what He asks.;)

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

I do not sleep. I am not delusional. I do not make excuses for my sin, I merely express that it is there. Even the disciples and the apostles sinned. No one is above sin. YOU need to stop being delusional and believing that you are perfect. A vessel cannot make itself better. Nor can it repair itself once fallen from the shelf. All fall from the shelf sooner or later.

In regards to doing God's will, He does give all the ability to choose what path to take. Even so, no one is taking the perfect path. To quote William Law, "If you will look into your own heart in complete honesty, you must admit that there is one and only one reason why you are not a saint: You do not wholly want to be one." We all give in to sinful nature. Yourself included. Not to point fingers, but you've appeared incredibly proud and boastful in just about every post I've seen from you. That in itself is a sin. We are only perfect in that we are exactly as God intended us to be.

There is a small problem with your interpretation of Matthew 5: 48. Jesus is instructing how to change and live a righteous life. People cannot be instructed to "be" perfect by changing behaviors. That would be attaining perfection, which you yourself have admitted is impossible. What Jesus is actually saying is that they should repent, place faith in God, and attempt to follow as best as they possibly can. Repentance isn't a one time thing. You keep doing it every time you sin, and you keep trying to overcome.

Dear Skyangel. I agree with you: The Father judges us daily. In Matthew, chapter 22, verses 35-40, Jesus tells us: " The first and great Commandment is: Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it: Love thy neighbour as thyself." Then Jesus gives us this very important fact: " On these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." God wants Love from us, freely given and no conditions made. God also told us that He won`t judge us, and Jesus told us too, that He won`t judge us. Who will? We are being judged daily by God`s eternal Law of Justice: the world knows it under: " what ye sow ye will also reap," It is God`s Way of teaching us: for being as God wants us to be, loving and caring, we will get rewards and blessings, for ignoring, or going against God`s Commandments, we will reap fitting consequences. God wants us to change, to be reborn, to change our selfish and unloving character INTO: loving God with all our beings, and loving our neighbour as ourselves.
Jesus will give us His Love and Joy, and the Holy Spirit will give us His Love, also.
Jesus told us to "ask and ye will receive," then we thank God, and share all Love and Joy with all around us. (our neighbour) God will see our sincere efforts, and God will bless us. How do we know? We are following God`s Commandments to love and care, and God will judge us accordingly. It may not be easy to start, Skyangel, but if we persever and treat all we know and all we meet, as we would love to be treated, ( friends and no friends, too) Love will change us into the children/sons and daughters, which our Heavenly Father wants. Jesus our Saviour will always be ready to help and lead us, HE is THE WAY. We might stumble and fail, but we will ask God to forgive us, and God will forgive us, as we will forgive others. Our God is a fair Judge, and we can always trust Him. I say this with love. Greetings from Emmy, sister in Christ. P.S. Love is a Christian`s strong weapon, it will help us to overcome all enmity and fiery darts, and Love is also a doing-word, and Love will change us into worthy children, of our Worthy Heavenly Father.
