Yes, it's abused, but that still doesn't make it legal or moral...especially for Christian nonprofits.
So when I drive my company car on the way to work, it would be illegal for me to stop at Starbuck's to get a latte for personal consumption? No, it's not.

The abuse is, using a corporate asset exclusively for personal use.

If the commode sits in corporate headquarters, I don't think I care how much it's worth.

Giving a $20 Timex to a pastor in a Third World country can be argued as being extravagant....that money can be sold to feed the poor. Wasn't that also Judas' argument?

Keep in mind I'm not advocating a $23,000 piece of furniture - at least not me personally.
Already addressed the Judas thing, thanks so much for the comparison. :( Not cool. It's obviously very different being generous to the Lord; another to spoil oneself. Surely you're not comparing giving Joyce a $23,000 commode the same as annointing Jesus' feet with very expensive oil???

LOOK, I'm leaving this post.

I just saw it in Forums and just realized that I'm in the Pentacostal zone. I would NOT have posted here if I had realized that.

We do not share the same theology and I did NOT intentionally come out here to debate or argue.

Sorry about that. I'm leaving now.

Well, that's because we are choosing to ignore it, because it's................
Yes I know. People would rather turn the false into truth than accept the truth. It's so much more fun because then we can bicker and place blame and make accusations.

After all Christ did say accuse the brethren and ignore the truth didn't he?

Ha ha ha ha. Ooops!! You stumbled into the dark zone, in the nether regions of your soul.

Quick!!! Someone lay hands on her and slay her in the Spirit before she gets away..........................

*speaking like hillbilly*, "Ya'll come back now, ya hear".

"Oh dang nab it Mary Lou, I broke me britches...........hey ma, I needs new britches".

Yes but she poured it on Jesus to prepare him for the burial.

The issue is could she have poured it over herself?

I think the point is that someone gave the ministry the commode as a gift, just as the woman gave Jesus the ointment as a gift.

Peace...

The difference is, Joyce Meyer is not Jesus.

Also, Jesus said, “She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial.” Joyce was given the toilet to, um, use--not for some spiritual reason. If you can see a spiritual connection in the toilet/toilette, you sure have more insight than I do.

So what about the giver of the camode? Lets be real stinky about the gift, and say no thanks I refuse your gift, and hurt the givers feelings. Its not always about us. There is the other side of the coin about giving, and someone desiring to give a gift. Lets cut them off quickly. It certainly couldn't be scriptural about someone desiring to give anything, right?
Wheather Joyce needed it or not doesn't matter, she more than likely didn't. But I think she took the higher road concerning the giver.

WHAT part of it is a dresser NOT A TOILET are people NOT getting. GIVE me abreak. Another reason to slam someone...I hope your logs are worth 23K!

Who cares if it is a dresser or a toilet, it cost 23,000 stinkin’ dollars—the entire wages of a family at the poverty level (people who she sometimes receives sacrificial donations from). It does not matter if it was purchased by her or given to her; it just set her up for criticism. You think she would have more discretion, either way, seeing that such an unnecessary luxury could only serve to draw fire from her critics. It certainly does not help anyone use the restroom any better.
