...and here come the completely unrelated statements by others, and the snippets of minor teachings from decades ago that she probably doesn't remember she taught back in the day. I'm surprised they were able to clean up the old tape recordings so well.

Here's what I think. With the sheer amount of teachings today accessible through this world wide web. Why would one listen to a potential apostate? Why would one dig their heels in on any teacher?
I meet with a pastor every week for bible study. I asked him this morning about his opinion of Joyce Meyer. His immediate response? "False Prophet".
I'm going to do a thread on free materials so people don't feel they need to rely on these apostates. No offense to anyone in this thread, but it's my conclusion and not interested in debating, just wanted to share proof of apostasy. God Bless.

Actually, I like "debating" with them... is kind of one of the main reasons I watch some of them...

I go to them for some teaching, some ideas, yes, but it's also just kind of entertaining to me also, or to boot, and having already rejected almost any kind of other more worldly forms of entertainment...? Well...?

I am curious though, what is his, (and sounds like "yours" also), "basis" for calling somebody a false prophet or apostate...?

It also just sounds like you went to him and asked him what he thought, not to form your own opinion, but just to confirm one you already had, and already knew you two would be in agreement about, or would already have, or share in common, is what it sounds like... to affirm yourselves, I guess, or build, or puff up, both you and him, I guess... (In false beliefs maybe?) (I don't know, you be the judges of that)...

So/and/or/but, I would like to know if there is "any real basis" for calling either them, or someone (else) a false prophet or apostate or heretic or "whatever"...?

On what facts, or what scriptures, do you make that, or these, or this or those, or "this" determination specifically...? and how can that or they be applied to people that you are talking about...? (like Joyce Meyer)...?

God Bless!

Because it's those who are the quickest to throw around words like "apostate" and "heresy" that I find to be the furthest from the Bible. So Joyce Meyer has in the past few decades taught some questionable things, is that what she is teaching now? Is she anointed of God, but had things to learn in the past? I think so. So I listen to what she is saying now, and find it helpful. But let me ask you, how would you and those you listen to stand up under the same microscope you use on others? Have you ever believed something questionable in your life? By your own standard you are either a potential apostate too, or a liar.

Because it's those who are the quickest to throw around words like "apostate" and "heresy" that I find to be the furthest from the Bible. So Joyce Meyer has in the past few decades taught some questionable things, is that what she is teaching now?

I don't know what she's teaching now, I don't follow false prophets. Her teachings are likely more subtle than the obvious doctrines of demons she has already put out in her earlier "career". Meyers is a counterfeit teacher that has her roots in the prosperity gospel. Just look at her assets, she's a multi-multi millionaire and has her own private airplane. Does this seem normal to you? Does Jesus want all His children owning multi-million dollar homes and private jets? Is that what he taught? That we should have private jets? God will provide us with what we need, not what we "want".

Here are a few things Meyers has taught:

Jesus stopped being the Son of God.
Jesus was born again.
Jesus paid for our sins in hell.
Jesus went to hell and was tormented there.
If you don't believe Jesus went to hell you cannot be saved.
We are called little gods.
Joyce Meyer said she is not a sinner
The host of hell were literally on Jesus and were laughing
Joyce Meyer gets revelation knowledge

For more details see link:
Joyce Meyer | CARM.org

So tell me, did Meyers publicly repent for these false teachings? Did she come out publicly and explain these teachings contradict the bible? I mean come on, these teaching are not just little mistakes, they're outright apostasy. For you to make excuses and downplay these demonic teachings, you're displaying acquiescence.

Is she anointed of God, but had things to learn in the past? I think so. So I listen to what she is saying now, and find it helpful.

Which God has anointed her? With all due respect: If you are this pliable to willingly "overlook" the clear demonic doctrines of her past, I would seriously question if you have the ability to even see the apostasy she's peddling today.

But let me ask you, how would you and those you listen to stand up under the same microscope you use on others? Have you ever believed something questionable in your life? By your own standard you are either a potential apostate too, or a liar.

If I make mistakes, I immediately repent if/when it becomes known. Where can I find a record of Meyers repenting for her demonic teaching?

Another point: I am not a teacher. I do not lead people through books and public events, trading their money for lies and deceit. Your analogy doesn't hold water. If I believed in another gospel, I would be the sole person going to hell. If I am a false prophet, I will be leading all my flock to hell. And I don't assume that everyone listening to Meyers drivel is going to hell, but if they focus on her prosperity gospel, well then who knows.

She was and still is, a person "in process" and is not perfect, nor all-knowing, as she will openly admit and tell you now, and even makes some jokes about, her past, how she used to be, ect, She will tell you that when she was "in process" back then, she now will openly admit and tell you all, as she has in many of her latest sermons, about how she was the biggest pharisee and how she was getting some things wrong even, ect, and she used to be "so wrong about them", ect, and she now tells everyone about them, even giving specific examples... Using herself as and example of when she used to be the biggest pharisee, and was getting much of it wrong back then, ect...

Sounds pretty, "repentant" to me...?

But, you know what, we do need to see some real people "in process" and still going through the process, I think...

By the way, so far she is one of the only few I know of, that can prove and will show you where the money they take in goes to, she recently announced that 89% of all of it goes directly toward helping others, basically, being the hands and feet of Jesus, to or toward others, ect... And anything other than that goes into ministry costs and expenditures, and other costs, ect, growing the ministry ect...

That's a very high and much higher and better percentage than most anyone else, doing what she does, including many more worldly charitable organizations doing similar things also...

She said it was "good ground" to sow into, and I think she's right...

Joyce Meyer has to everywhere around the world and go and get to be in as many places as she can be in, as often and as much as she can be or needs to be in them... so, having one jet, that can take you there, or connect you to another flight, or allow her to do that, in her line of work (better, more often, ect) could be necessary...

Her having a jet is probably paying for itself in many ways... They also have to live in places where they can be and feel "safe" for one, and will be safe, which costs more obviously... Because of this you get to live, or have to live, or get or keep or maintain, a certain kind of lifestyle... Which also takes a little more money...

God Bless!

When speaking about well-known, revered, and highly regarded past or present leaders, teachers, or pastors (living or deceased) within the Charismatic faith group, please show a measure of respect. These public religious figures are respected by CF members from a wide range of Charismatic churches and movements. Please avoid using inflammatory words or phrases in reference to these public religious figures. Focus on discussing the beliefs and teachings of these leaders (e.g. whether it is biblical or not), but don't mock these leaders.

Joyce Meyer is a well-known, revered, highly regarded teacher within many in the Charismatic faith group. God has used this woman's ministry to help many of us to grow closer to God.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion of Joyce Meyer Ministries, but for anyone to publicly call Joyce Meyer an apostate, heretic, false teacher, false prophet, etc., in this forum, is considered inflammatory.

I hope you will avoid using such descriptors as "false prophet," "apostate," etc., when discussing Joyce Meyer in this forum, out of respect for others of us here that disagree with your discernment.

God bless.

Alright, so you proclaim that Meyer is an inspiration to you and you recommend her teachings despite her “mistakes”? Ok, duly noted.

You mention that she’s admitted she’s made mistakes. Which mistakes has she admitted to? Any from the list I provided? If she repented for all of that then I would have less issue with her. But she has not repented of any of it that I could find. And yet these false teachings continue to circulate the planet. The truth is that nobody should be teaching anything which contradicts the bible. I’m a new Christian and I already have this tattooed into my brain.

We don’t need more deluded people “in process” of learning the bible to also teach it, and pass on their heresies. We have far too many already. We need real teachers with the Holy Spirit, to spread truth. And better yet, we ourselves should be seeking the Holy Spirit to reveal His truth.

It would not matter if Meyer gave away 100% of her profits. Christianity is not a “works” based religion. I mean, this lady has her own...jetairplane. Do you think the Christian world would be worse off without Joyce flying from city to city being the “sinless” teacher she claims to be? I don’t even think the apostles had a camel, let alone a private plane. I’m fairly certain that God can handle his church without Meyers’ and her private jet, no?

FYI: One of the statements I posted earlier may be incorrect. I don't think Meyer actually stated, "If you don't believe Jesus went to hell you cannot be saved." But the rest should still hold water...

God Bless!

Hi Mourning Dove :)

I hope I didn't offend you by my post. It does state in the forum guidelines, "When discussing and debating some topics please be aware that your personal beliefs may at times be challenged or criticized." I think that is exactly what this thread, and this forum is all about.

The guidelines also state : When speaking about well-known, revered, and highly regarded past or present leaders, teachers, or pastors (living or deceased) within the Charismatic faith group, please show a measure of respect. I agree to these terms, however, I don't know any other way to put into words that I think Meyer is teaching a false gospel. I cannot sugar coat my opinion. Anything that is contradictory to what the bible preaches is considered heretical. The forum guidelines do not prohibit any vocabulary words, and since I must use this vocabulary to express my opinion, I would kindly refer you again to the forum guidelines: When discussing and debating some topics please be aware that your personal beliefs may at times be challenged or criticized.

I absolutely do not wish to offend anyone in this thread, but we're all adults here and I don't think I have been disrespectful by offering some false hoods in Meyer's career. Maybe everyone is already aware of these unfortunate claims made by Meyer, and if so than that's fine by me. But I think this thread should include the heretical works of Meyer for people stumbling on this thread that are unfamiliar with her.

God Bless :)

Well, I know and respect some of the Meyer supporters in this thread, and so I trust that she's got something to offer in her materials. I'm not familiar with her other than the quotes listed above which is enough to make me stand clear ;)
Thank you for your manners and being an example to follow. Bless you.

I don't know what she's teaching now, I don't follow false prophets. Her teachings are likely more subtle than the obvious doctrines of demons she has already put out in her earlier "career".

Another point: I am not a teacher. I do not lead people through books and public events, trading their money for lies and deceit. Your analogy doesn't hold water. I see what you're doing. You're attempting to discredit the information based on it's source. Well, that's no reason to lie to yourself and deceive others. As previously posted, you can get all of this same information straight from the horses' mouth.

6 Reasons You Should Stop Listening to Joyce Meyer - Long for Truth

And so given that your previous post was based on assumptions that the information was incorrect, now that you know these statements of Meyers came straight out of her mouth, what are you going to do with this "new" information?

When I watch her or read her books it is with Bible in hand , just like all others teaching about the Word. I’ve never found anything not in the Bible. She is pulling away from Word of Faith.

But I know what she has done for me. I didn’t know I could take the Word of God and change my negative thinking. I didn’t know how to apply it. I didn’t know that the lies the enemy filled me with could be defeated.
Battlefield of the Mind I’ve read more times than I can count. It is read with the Bible.

In early 20’s diagnosed Bipolar and BPD. Years of meds and therapy. Yes I learned a lot about coping in therapy but nothing like what I’ve learned from my Father with the help of Joyce. Her strength is inspiring. Her testimony is amazing! I’ve had days so full of anger that the only way I knew how to get it out was with self harm. My body will forever show that past. I learned by watching Joyce how I could take God’s love, His grace, His Words and change my life.

Joyce Meyer isn’t perfect. No teacher, preacher, pastor, priest or person of any kind is. Many people are taught a certain way and then they grow and see that way doesn’t line up with God’s Word. She has done that.

I won’t get into an argument over her. I don’t want that negativity. I see the awesome work God has done in my life because of what I learned from her about Him. No church I’ve ever been in taught anything about emotions which can be a huge stumbling block when the enemy has a hold.

So, I will give you that at points in her life she had some questionable teaching, but they were never her primary message. But also consider that much of what your sources dispute are things that she is explicitly biblical on. They hate her for being biblical-- yes they do.

On the other hand, your sources are gossips and liars, and by biblical standards unbelievers.

She is an honest, straight talker, and challenges fake Christianity. She is honest about the struggles and challenges she has had in her personal and family life and what God has taught her over the years.

And she manages to do it all while owning several homes, traveling in a private jet, and earning an annual income just shy of $500,000.

And she works non-stop and gets paid for that but at the same time helps people all over the world. She is an author so of course gets paid for that. Gets paid to speak. She has a job so has a paycheck.

That would be chicken feed for most secular business executives. A private jet is a good tool for someone like her who does a lot of travelling as part of her ministry. No waiting in airports and having to put up with cancellations and delays. The money she would be saving by having the private jet might offset a lot of the cost of having it. I think a lot of the criticism of her in terms of her income and material assets comes out of just sheer envy!

Just like most senior secular business executives, and we don't go around criticising them - and yet many of these companies over price their products and cheat their customers big-time! But the criticisers of Christian ministries are very silent about that! Perhaps because they have a handsome shareholding in some of those companies and get their dividends paid!
