If there were not Gods children on the TV, there would be something that is ungodly on TV in its place. I praise God that christians are stepping up and using some technology and actually using it to further His Kingdom.
You have me here.:) I am not certain what the answer is, but there must be some better way. A thought however is that we are to be in the world not of it. I know they didn't have the technology in the days these words were penned, yet it still remains true.

As to the comment that Joyce is a vessel of God I would add that everyone is supposed to be. All of us are called to be the ministers of Christ.

I don't wish to be a stumbling block for anyone, so I will simply stop responding. Argument is unfruitful, and can only serve to hurt, which I never intend. So I will simply let you all continue your thread without further entry from me.

Someone asked what WOF was. It is Word of Faith, which means basically that the believer can have faith to believe for the things that they want/need and by speaking the Word, the Lord will cause it to manifest into existance. I have mixed feelings on this. It would seem that this is true from scripture, yet in practice, not everything is fruitful for a child of God, and in that regard perhaps our Father in heaven will simply say NO. I know that this will rub some the wrong way too, so with that I will simply say farewell to this thread.

May God Bless you all, and may He enlighten each of us in His way.

Just because an organization is incorporated says nothing about it other than it's assests are it's own and they are seperated from that of it's officers.

I have been to many Joyce Meyer meetings and never once charged admission, most of what she does is preach, I don't recall books being hawked on stage for more that perhaps a minute (tapes maybe more) but 95% of the stage time is usually preaching or worship.

That being said, I have issues with ministries bearing the name of the servant.

what of Paul then who said, "..my gospel.."

didn't Jesus refer to the Torah as "the law of Moses"?

besides that, as a religious organization, its the law that it must be named after the preacher.

though all are servants of God, yet somebody on the earth has to take the responsibility for that organization.

What of it? These people are not Paul.

I'm not familier with any law that states that. Even then, some tend to draw more attention to themselves than to Jesus (Creflo Dollar comes to mind).

Taking responsibility is not the same as taking credit.

Like I stated previously, I like Joyce, I think she is God's minister to a great degree and I personally have no beef with her.

A thought however is that we are to be in the world not of it. I know they didn't have the technology in the days these words were penned, yet it still remains true.

I believe this verse (you are talking about) is saying "dont participate in the sinful ways of the world, dont try to look like the word looks...be set apart and look different to them." I believe it is in a 'heart way', our hearts are to be for God and not for the world. Dont let the world and its evilness rub off onto you, dont let the world affect you because you are of God. etc...

I dont think that He means dont move with 'new' advances, dont be in the public eye ..etc...

As to the comment that Joyce is a vessel of God I would add that everyone is supposed to be. All of us are called to be the ministers of Christ.
:amen: to the above comment, totally agree with you!! I was just trying to pointing out that we should encourage her in her walk, and in the ministry that God has placed her. She is our sister in Christ...we are all one.....which brings me to my next point, i didnt mean to 'come down on' or offend you either, so if i was too harsh i am sorry too. I dont wish to argue either, i do understand your concerns, but i know that God is bigger than any of our weaknesses (IF that is one of hers) and that He will still continue to use her greatly and use it all for His good. I believe that there are people called into TV ministry and she is one of them.

God bless you,
Love in Christ

Joyce has a WOF reputation, because a radio "ministry" that has appointed itself the ultimate expert on true doctrine says she is WOF, and a bunch of weak-minded semi-Christians consider that to be the absolute authority on someone's Spirituallity. At least as far as I have seen. I have never heard her say anything that is unique to WOF.

WOF is a theology that puts a very strong emphasis on faith, and teaches that the words that you speak have power of their own to move Spiritual forces. For, example, if I were to say that I am getting a cold, WOF teaches that I gave myself the cold by speaking it into existence with that one statement.

Was this a not so subtle slam on HH?

Taking responsiblity deals with understanding that something has been put into your care and that you are answerable for it.

Taking credit deals with thinking your effort, works, charisma, etc are the things causing people to get saved, money to come in, etc.

The first is Godly, the second Arrogant.

Paul stated that it was his gospel because God had entrusted him, not because he was to get credit for it.

I intentionally didn't mention any names, but I do have a huge problem with anyone making six figures as a proffessional gossip and trying to pass it off as Bible study. I have as big a problem with any preachers who propogate that gossip. I have a problem with gossip even if the one doing it isn't making six figures.

where does any minister of the gospel take credit?

if you say they do it has to be somewhere in their statements, or teachings.

At the risk of upsetting someone, and this is not my intent, I think 'Joyce Meyer Ministries Inc.' pretty much screams what we should think of her. Put INC. behind any ministry name and it is no longer a ministry, but a money making concern.

I had a discussion in another forum on these TV preachers who go on and on about how God is blessing them with cash and jets and new clothes, and then they hit people up for cash at the end of their program. It really upsets me that so many get hooked on these folks.

We really need to be careful of who we trust, even if their teaching seems true. We need to beware of wolves among us.

My issue is, everything is money in these groups. They have rallies, and charge admission, they schlep their books on stage and in the book stores, and then they have the nerve to ask for even more money on their programs. And to make it seem more palitable, they quote scripture promises for prosperity. God doesn't bless you because you give to these ministries, He blesses you for doing His will, including giving to the places He tells you. Personally, I think we need to seek out the poor and homeless in our own neighborhood rather than giving to a "ministries inc." Just my opinion.
whoever you r u need to get saved for real! the word says "touch not thine annointed" u should be careful what u say about the body of christ. joyce is a beautiful woman and she speaks the truth. it takes money to get the message to the world, just like it takes money to operate this site. did u donate?

I love Joyce!! I am really proud to be her partner and out of all the ministries I give to - her's has first place in my heart. She has helped me grow up more than I ever thought possible - because she has shown me what a living faith in Jesus is - she was the first one who introduced me to WOF - and she certainly quotes other WOF preachers and teachers in her tapes and sermons. She is a dynamic and annointed woman of God - who has the ability to speak to people with broken hearts and help them see how Jesus can heal them....she is kind of like a Benny Hinn for the emotional cripples!! (Me included) She has helped me find my feet...and continues to help me each time I stumble - and I when I get to Heaven I want to make sure I thank her - because without her teaching I would not enjoy such a close relationship with God. She encourages me to keep going with God even when I feel like giving up - she shows me that I am worth something to God even when I feel like nothing...she has shown me the Good News in a way that speaks to my heart like no one else...I praise God for Joyce Meyer!! God Bless her abundantly!

I went to a Word of Faith church for 4 years. Yes, Joyce is Word of Faith. She is well-rounded in her teachings, not only teaching the Word of Faith message, but she does teach the Word of Faith message (which teaches that you can have what you say, based on Mark 11:23).

I think there are a lot of valid reasons probably for incorporating an organization and that's a pretty unfair statement.
