Now let me get this straight (I just want to be clear on this), Q. And don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against Mrs. Meyer, personally, and know nothing about her specifically. She seems to be a rather engaging person. But by your rule, in order to post in this thread we must accept the lady in question’s teachings and lifestyle, and ignore all disapproval of her even though she is a public figure with an intrusion into our homes via the free public airwaves?

Is that a correct interpretation of your order/request?

This is not a thread for debate. In fact it started out as a simple question on whether or not JM is WOF. There are plenty (ad nausem) of threads for debate, but this is not the thread for that as the moderator has pointed out on more than one occasion. God does love obedience, so obey the authority on this thread.

Years ago, there was a man who was on television. He said, "If you don't like me, don't write to me and tell me, just turn off your television set." Which I did, and I prayed. He has changed. I now watch him sometimes.

We live in a free country. There are many things on television. We each have a choice what we watch, or don't watch. For about 15 years, I had no tv at all, as the Holy Spirit instructed me to remove it from my house -- as it had been an idol for me. Then, I had a set for just over a year, and only watched Christian tv a little. Then, I moved and got rid of it.

A year ago March, my son bought me a tv so I could see my grandson's video which he'd sent me. Again, I began watching some Christian television. Again, there are some ministers that aren't for me, so I don't watch them.

I haven't found anywhere in the Bible where it says to tell everyone their sins, as I mentioned earlier (if they are sinning). We don't know all the facts. Would I like all my "dirty laundry" aired in public? No. And, I don't think any of us would like that, either.

May God give us great understanding and grace for how to treat our brothers and sisters.

With love,

Ann

I'm saying...there are some people who cannot post in threads regarding Joyce Meyer because their post bring disruption to the forum. Their posts do not seem to begin and end with one post where they make their point and move on but they seem to badger on and on and on those who do like her. Therefore in an attempt to keep those particular people from continuing to get warnings and eventually be banned, they are simply being asked, in Joyce Meyer threads to not post at all.

Any further discussion can be done via PM if you'd like to continue on.

I haven't heard JM speak, but I have read 2 of her books: Battlefield of the Mind and the small book regarding The Power of Speaking God's Word. I don't know about other people, but I have gained so much spiritually from just these 2 books. If her speaking is as powerful or her other books are as powerful, God richly and abundantly bless this woman.

A post I read suggested that maybe she is a positive, feel-good type person. Pretty much the latter book is 98% all Bible verses. The first book had tons of Bible verses and the Holy Spirit convicted me about my thought life/patterns. Now I've become so much more (after reading the book) about how I think and feel that when I should start to have ungodly thoughts, I just turn to the Word of God to help me through. My prayer life has definitely increased, so has my stepping out in faith and Scripture memorization.

All around God has used this woman to help MY LIFE and God is changing it for His glory.

It's not wrong for JM or other people to make LOTS of money. Christians can be wealthy. I personally don't think she's set out to do all this for money, but a by product of her obedience to God is God is blessing her with money and wealth. I've read where some people attend some of her things for free. Those places, the Audio Visual things all cost money to run/rent and the crews that it takes to pull everything off is a lot. These things aren't free yet people expect them to be free. The people that work for these ministries also need money to live on.

How many of us are willing to take some of the huge steps of faith this woman and others have to allow God to work in and through them for His glory? Most of us aren't, yet we feel qualified to criticize. I say God continue to abundantly bless this woman. I think I spent maybe $20 total for both books and it has blessed me by many, many multiples more than that. She's not an idol, rather a tool God has brought in my life. For once in my life, I found a woman I could actually relate to in my thoughts and attitudes and see the journey she has taken and perhaps the journey God can take me on in my life (in a different direction).

Maybe for those who do criticize, how about praying for her and other ministries that they continue to be Christ-centered and be good stewards of the monies they get?

Blessings,
Doris
