Palin went on tour claiming to be promoting an understanding (by the american public) of our history and historical sites. Not only was she taking a vacation with her PAC money, but she made a mistake about an historical fact which she later defended. (and she was using it to promote talking points about gun control) After which she called the question: "what will you take away from your visit" a gotcha question.

They will defend Palin until the end regardless of her misstatements. She is the perfect victim because she is SO HOT!

I'm glad we have it on our money and in the pledge. It's a good thing.
How? Replacing "E Pluribus Unum" with "in God we Trust" not only spits in the face of our country's heritage, it's just not true for thousands of patriotic Americans. Same goes for the pledge, which was conceived to specifically be a giant middle finger to atheists and is a result of McCarthy era fear mongering and panic. What's good about it?

If you take our Christian heritage as a "giant middle finger" that is your problem. I couldn't care less. It isn't about you and it wasn't conceived because of atheists. It is for the recognition of our heritage. Just because a few reject it doesn't mean everyone else must to make you feel better.

"Our Christian Heritage" since 1954?

Funny, it's always the Christians in America who get fussy when they're told they can't exercise their authority over someone else, and scream they're the ones being oppressed.

Palin made a gaffe that most people don't know anything about.
What? What does that even mean?

Most people don't know who Palin is or Revere was, but those who do, do - especially now.

It was a historical goof up that does not even need apologizing.
Yeah, but she won't even admit it was a goof up; she kept insisting she was totally correct. I don't think she's admitted it yet.

Vicious haters seething and dripping venom then took the opportunity to spit sanctimonious condescension her way
What colorful demonizing language! Oh, she made a rather stupid mistake, that Revere rode to warn the British, and then wouldn't admit it. Of course people laff at that. She has a pattern of blaming others for her own mistakes. Oh, but she doesn't make mistakes - it's all other people out to get her somehow - by pointing out that what comes out of her mouth is ridiculous.

On the other had, Stewart's comment was a flop of a condescending insult towards his betters.
Oh, pooh.

Say, you have a thing about condescension? Do you think people look down on you?

Talk about hypocritical projection.

I don't know how this thread derailed into a debate about 'under God', but that phrase changes absolutely nothing about our country - whether or not it's in the pledge.

Hypocrisy is teaching one thing and doing the opposite. I have not done that.

Deciding who other peoples "betters" are is remarkably condescending in my opinion.

Criticizing others for condescending and doing so in the process is almost textbook hypocrisy.

Also irony.

Jon Stewart Trumpets False Fox News Statements Fact-Checked By Politifact (VIDEO)

Before he could do any skewering, however, Stewart first had to apologize to Politifact for a false statement HE made during his Chris Wallace interview. Stewart had inaccurately called Fox News viewers, "The most consistently misinformed media viewers," but the fact-checking group reports that not every poll lists them as such (Stewart blames his ignorance on watching too much Fox News, naturally).

Jon Stewart Trumpets False Fox News Statements Fact-Checked By Politifact (VIDEO)
Video posted at huffingtonpost.com....... Well, isn't that special. The beautifully non-biased, non-partisan Huffington Post, praising both sides equally. Oh wait. Nevermind. No one there would give credit to George W. Bush if he found a cure for cancer. They stand by Jon Stewart. They want to make sure that Stewart's skewering of Fox News reaches as many people as possible. Which is basically just liberals who don't care nothin' about getting information from other sources. They stick with sites like HuffPo and Daily Kos and then they have the gall to say Conservatives are brainwashed. Yeah . . . whatever.

Jon Stewart hates Fox News, plain and simple. He and his ilk want to propagate the idea that a person can simply in no way get truth from Fox News and that everything a Fox News viewer allows to enter their brain is completely and utterly false information.

Obviously that's not true. It should also be obvious that that's not even freaking close to being true. If you believe it is true, why don't you sit for one whole hour between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. (Eastern U.S. time) and document how many lies are told. Today or tomorrow or Monday, just pick an hour and document away. Also fact check what you see during that hour to see what you have not been lied about. Oh, can you do it with an open mind? If not then forget it.

Getting right to the heart of the matter, some people hate with every ounce of them that Fox News questions decisions of Democrats. (The same thing is true here, the utter contempt for someone thinking Obama's leading America in the wrong direction. "How dare someone think that way. What a moron!")

Some networks give a pass to Obama & the Dems as if whatever they do is automatically the correct decision for this country. Jon Stewart is pretty much mostly in line with that thinking therefore everything Republicans do or say that goes against Obama is undoubtedly wrong and he feels it's his place to tell his viewers that. And anyone who questions Obama -- like Fox News -- is misinforming people and viewers need to be told that, too. Like Olbermann, Stewart somehow thinks its part of his job to tell people that Fox News Lies.

People also hate that Fox News gives the right an outlet to speak to millions upon millions of viewers. Of course what some people don't see because they don't actually watch Fox News is that are given time on the Fox airwaves to debate what Republicans have to say. Quite a novel idea, isn't it? Yes, that does exist on Fox.

Jon Stewart is amongst those who have such a deep hatred for Fox because of the perceived "threat" they pose to the direction of this nation. So he also propagates the lie that Fox News viewers are idiots or misinformed on everything and that people at Fox sit around a table each day discussing how they're going to misinform people about the left.

Please. What is it, paranoia? It's certainly insanity. It's definitely hatred.

Are you insinuating the the video is somehow doctored because it was linked to Huffington post?

It's a video!
