Acts 10:44-48, 19:1-6 does not state in order to receive the Holy Spirit one must always speak in tongues. In some circumstances they did and in others they did not.
I'm not trying to say that one must speak in tongues in order to receive the Spirit . . . tongues is a miraculous unlearned language(s) that edifies the speaker - no man can do that - "no man can tame the tongue . . . it defiles the body" - fitting then that GOD should do it when our body becomes the temple of his spirit!! . . "from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks" - the new tongue signifies the "new heart", similarly no new tongue shows no new heart.
"in others they did not" -
I challenge you: please give one scripture that states that.
If you cannot it shows that you base your doctrine on no scripture and ignore what is stated.
Here's Scripture with the Holy Spirit and no tongues:
Acts 1:5
. . .
Acts 1:8
. . .
Acts 2:38
Yes, those scriptures mention the coming of the Holy Spirit, so what?
Are you saying that unless tongues are mentioned every time the Holy Spirit is mentioned you will not believe?
Acts 4:31
And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
They were the disciples who had already
received the Spirit back in Acts 2, now they were stirring up the gift already within them.
This passage is not the receiving of the Spirit, you really need to rightly divide the word!!
Acts 8:15-19
15 who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.
16 For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
17 Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
18 And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,
19 saying, Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.
How was it known that these believers in Jesus had NOT received the Spirit?
Look, Acts is written as a letter, the same people are preaching the same gospel as at the beginning (Acts 2).
If you write a letter or introduce yourself, do you keep repeating the same detail?
Do you go up to your friends and say "Hi I'm . . . ."
Of course not! They will think you are mad!
Your argument seems to be that unless the same detail is repeated every time you will not believe!
That will get you nowhere because I can show other examples in Acts that don't mention that the people "believed" or "repented" or got baptised" ot "received the Holy Spirit" or that "the gospel was preached" etc. According to the way you are using scripture this means that all of these things are optional!!
