IF enough of the states work together. One way or another, we are united.

At least 38 of the 50, yes.

Get convicted for bombing the Senate --those charges against her were dropped.

They weren't "dropped"...she was pardoned by Clinton his last day in office. Telling!

In any event, that attack on the Capitol was far more coordinated and professional than the 1/6 riot... even though, as a terrorist attack, it was doomed to political failure (terrorism tends to backfire drastically in that regard).

You think this country's formation was viewed as terrorism by the British?

Those who did have weapons and rope found her to be a useful bullet shield... proof that even the dumbest would-be "army" knows the value of cannon fodder.

Who had rope and weapons inside the Capitol?

I didn't care for it when it was said, but if we cannot have justice, perhaps we can at least have consistency. Either it was right then as well as now, or it was wrong then as well as now.

We can have both; justice and consistency. They both have to be valued.

Like you, I don't approve when either side loots or riots.
I, however, acknowledge that both sides have done it.

I'm not denying riots from either extreme of opposed faction; I am hesitant to label Jan 6 as an "insurrection" though.

The dead have no rights to protect... the government has to keep us alive to do its job.

Sure they do. You can't just arbitrarily dig up someone's grave, for example.

Is the sky actually falling, or just in a rapid descent?

Clouds are formed, we have some rotation, but if Biden successfully packs the court, that'll be my "sky is officially falling" moment.

Ignoring the fact that "earned" is a subjective term, what will they do with that money if they get it?

I think "earned" is objectively defined: We trade labor for wages, even the self-employed.

.yeah, there might be some serious interest in that since you can do much better return wise in the market.
Of course, you could also lose it all...

Telling of what,exactly?

You think this country's formation was viewed as terrorism by the British?

Of course not -- the government of one (fledgling) nation declared war against another.

Who had rope and weapons inside the Capitol?

Do zipties count? And the rope (for the gallows) was left outside... one can only assume the plan was for outdoor executions of any hostages.

We can have both; justice and consistency. They both have to be valued.

Any time you want to begin... I certainly won't object.

I'm not denying riots from either extreme of opposed faction; I am hesitant to label Jan 6 as an "insurrection" though.

A failed one, and certainly a laughable attempt at one, but incompetence doesn't invalidate their mission.

Sure they do. You can't just arbitrarily dig up someone's grave, for example.

That's a violation of the rights of the Cemetery owners... who are usually very much alive.

Clouds are formed, we have some rotation, but if Biden successfully packs the court, that'll be my "sky is officially falling" moment.

Which isn't going to happen; Biden doesn't want to expand the court, but he's too smart to ignore the progressive wing who are the second-biggest reason he won (the first being a tie between Donald's response to COVID, and Donald... well, frankly being Donald)

I think "earned" is objectively defined: We trade labor for wages, even the self-employed.

And who decides what your labor is worth? You "earn" whatever someone -- anyone -- else is willing to give you.

Not likely with some diversification and attention. My investment account is up about 95% over the past 2 years and mine focuses on producing income. A small inherited IRA I invested April 2020 is up almost 40% on just 2 stocks: International Paper and PPL Corp (utility). SS can't even come close......

Telling of what,exactly?

That Clinton and supporters had no real issue with setting a domestic terrorist free.

Of course not -- the government of one (fledgling) nation declared war against another

Of course it was: King George III speaks to Parliament of American rebellion

Britain didn't see America as their own country. That's laughably false.

Do zipties count? And the rope (for the gallows) was left outside... one can only assume the plan was for outdoor executions of any hostages.

Symbols at best until used.

Any time you want to begin... I certainly won't object.

A failed one, and certainly a laughable attempt at one, but incompetence doesn't invalidate their mission.

Then we will retain our opposed perspectives. Either we are true to the definition of words or we are not. Words still matter I believe.

That's a violation of the rights of the Cemetery owners... who are usually very much alive.

What? That's not how that works. Burial plots are privately owned.

Which isn't going to happen; Biden doesn't want to expand the court, but he's too smart to ignore the progressive wing who are the second-biggest reason he won (the first being a tie between Donald's response to COVID, and Donald... well, frankly being Donald)

We shall see. I think your premise is wrong.

And who decides what your labor is worth? You "earn" whatever someone -- anyone -- else is willing to give you.

I do. If someone lowballs my labor, I, for now, have the right to refuse.

One who repented and reformed. I remember Christians used to be big on that.

Pardons can be issued for reasons other than being one of POTUS' cronies, you know.

According to George III. Should we accept his definition?

Should we accept your definition of terrorism... assuming you have one?

Britain didn't see America as their own country. That's laughably false.

And at the time, Americans didn't see blacks as human beings. I guess sometimes people can see things wrong.

Symbols at best until used.

Symbols of what?

I joined this forum trying....

Well, if at first (or second, or third, of five thousand four hundred and twenty-seventh) you don't succeed...

Then we will retain our opposed perspectives. Either we are true to the definition of words or we are not. Words still matter I believe.

Agreed -- and the definition of the word "insurrectionist" does not require success or even competence.

What? That's not how that works. Burial plots are privately owned.

By living people. And if the check from the living bounces, see how much respect is offered to the dead.

We shall see. I think your premise is wrong.

Well, I'm on record as predicting that Biden is forming the commission assuming it'll say "no" (It's bipartisan, after all). And then Biden will go to the Progressives and say, "Well, the experts say it's a bad idea, and you supported me because unlike the last guy, I listen to the experts, so..."
And then he gets what he wants without antagonizing his base.

I do. If someone lowballs my labor, I, for now, have the right to refuse.

True, but irrelevant. When your landlord comes asking for the rent, you can trying refusing that. Take the lowball and smile.

Meanwhile, if someone was willing to pay you more than what you think your labor is worth, you'd still count that as "earned," would you not?

There were plenty of people in the capital grounds carrying guns and other weapons. The idea that none of them supposedly then entered the building once it was breached is laughable.

There seems to be little repentance or reformation looking at her current activities.

Pardons can be issued for reasons other than being one of POTUS' cronies, you know.

Like Trump letting non-violent offenders out of jail. I'm good with that.

According to George III. Should we accept his definition?

British perspective is captured in history. Again, that was my point, and I know you know that too.

Should we accept your definition of terrorism... assuming you have one?

Not mine, the dictionary's.

And at the time, Americans didn't see blacks as human beings. I guess sometimes people can see things wrong.

Overgeneralized statement. Some Americans did, some saw them as human property, some saw them as less than human. It's nuanced. Yes, some can see them wrong. Agreed.

I own my own property. I rent nothing. Renting is awful and people need to move away from it as quickly as financially possible.

Meanwhile, if someone was willing to pay you more than what you think your labor is worth, you'd still count that as "earned," would you not?

If I voluntarily enter into that and am compensated for my labor at a rate I agree to, yes (parable of the worker's paid equally comes to mind).

Lots of weapons were used just outside the capital building, yes.

FactCheck said:
According to a database compiled by NPR, of the people charged with violent offenses, including assault on police officers, 15 were armed with deadly or dangerous weapons during the riot at the Capitol.

Eight others facing civil disorder or property destruction charges also were charged with possessing weapons, according to the database.

Those weapons included baseball bats, chemical sprays, a captured police officer’s riot shield, a crowbar, fire extinguishers and a metal flagpole.

Way off topic. Also, bad shoot.

Is it off topic? Because we have a bunch of mostly white guys carrying some pretty scary stuff while others were demanding to get ahold of various politicians like Pence (along with making a make-shift noose and gibbet). And most of them went home to enjoy the rest of their lives. Sure some are slowly being tracked down.

You see, in the US justice is merciless and speedy for people of color, but it is slow and deliberative for the white person.

Intent came with the symbols -- you just established that yourself.

And if the deceased's grave does not have descendants to make those decisions, who then does the decision go to?

The manager of the cemetery.

I will challenge your position. I assume they will say yes.

Then that's going to be a very interesting day in the news...

Of course, if a bipartisan commission, having looked at the facts, comes to the conclusion that the Supreme Court should be expanded from 9 to, let's say, 11 members, on what basis will you object?

Well maybe they’re just following in the footsteps of major US corporations?

Ie: Campaign donators, most likely; but doesn't dive into why big corporations would want to drive this narrative.

I'm sure it is. Feel free to embrace it.

I do, because it's factual and historically accurate.

Do you have a definition?

Definition of TERRORISM

Seems that George III can also see things wrong.

Wrong according to who?

"Rebellion" against the United States government, then.

Which had yet to be formally established and recognized in the moment we're referring to. I appreciate your patriotic sentiments though; I share them.

Feel free to start a "Socialism bad! BOOOO!" thread elsewhere. This thread is on a different topic.

Joe's policies and party politics are synonymous with it though, so very much on topic IMO. Socialism is anti-American. Ironic!

Intent came with the symbols -- you just established that yourself.

I can carry a pocket knife and not intend to use it. It's a nice tool if I need to though.

The manager of the cemetery.

Cite local law, I think that's too nuanced to paint that broadly.

Then that's going to be a very interesting day in the news...

Of course, if a bipartisan commission, having looked at the facts, comes to the conclusion that the Supreme Court should be expanded from 9 to, let's say, 11 members, on what basis will you object?

That the intent of expanding the court is to unbalance the duly appointed justices in favor of a political coup. We have had 9 justices since the founding, no need to change that now. Any attempt to change it is an obvious power grab.

For many, it's not financially possible. What should they do?

Have you seen rent prices? If you can afford to rent, you can own a home.

And if you're compensated more than what you agreed too, you're not about to send that back...

I'm missing your point here.
