Though I have betrayed you more than Judas, though I have denied you more than Peter, though I have doubted you more than Thomas, still you have bestowed me with your graces, of which I myself am greatly unworthy, yet the Father deems it is good through the work of His Son. Though I have walked proudly in the congregations of men and the worldly dwelling places of various idolatries, manifold dens of sinfulness and even within the proud nature of my own wicked heart, you have seen fit to meet me as I am, drawing me ever closer, setting me apart in your name. You fortify me against the works of evil, strengthening me, upholding me by your very hand. I call to you, and you hear me, softening my heart ever increasingly, preparing it as a Holy of Holies in which I may enter therein and dwell with you... you have seen fit to look upon this body of flesh and dust and deem it your temple, you have seen fit to pull my wandering eyes from lusts and temptations, drawing my gaze upon your holy hill, where I may gaze upon the splendor of your love and majesty and weep, knowing, now and forever, it is well with my soul. In the secret places, even driving to work, you visit with me and speak with me, you prepare me, you sanctify me. I look back upon where I have been now without the whisperings of the adversary calling me to guilt, my sins are separated as far as east is from west, into a sea of forgetfulness you have removed them, and I am a new creature, a new man. Yes, and indeed, I see now that my testimony for you was being built up this entire time, that I may not boast -- it is by your graces and manifold mercies that I am redeemed, and I run to good works because I desire your presence, and that the world may recognize you within me. For my daily prayer is upon my lips, less of me, less of me, and more of thee, Lord. Uphold me and grant unto me the gifts which I zealously seek, not for my pride, but that you be glorified in them... bless me and keep me, and may the meditations of my heart be acceptable to you. For it is unto you that I magnify your name above all the heavens and the earth and I do proclaim that you are thrice holy, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, both now and forever, and unto the Kingdom without end. Amen.
