CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Great question Lonnie....I think as the Mercy Me song goes..."will I be able to speak at all?" I'm sure that for the longest time I would just look at Him in awe...but that's ok...He knows what I'm thinking!

wanting greater intimacy with Jesus
if you were sitting there with JESUS what would you say?
Well, right at the moment, I guess I would ask him to hold me and comfort me and tell me how to do better at my job and not to feel stressed or worried.
I desperately need him at the moment. I really wish I could see him face to face. I want to stop feeling stressed and upset at work because I can't do my job properly at the moment and things are getting on top of me at home. I want my life to go back to being peaceful and joyful and knowing I am serving him. I want to live every moment of every day for him but I am finding it incredibly hard to focus on him at the moment.

In the Sefer Tehillim (Book of Psalms) chapter 121:1-3,
the psalmist wrote:
''If I raise my eyes to the hills,
from where will my help come?
My help comes from ADONAI,
the maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip ---
your guardian is not asleep.''
Sister, in these verses the writer of this psalm was looking
at the hills in their majesty and grandeur,
and then he asks a question,
''From where will my help come?''
He wasn't expecting his help to come from the hills.
They serve, however, to remind him
of the One who created the hills,
and the seas and the whole earth.
He realizes that this Creator is also his Helper.
The magnitude and grandeur of the visible creation
provide him with a standard by which to measure
the divine resources that are personally available to him.
At times we, too,
need to contemplate the might and marvels
of creation and to apply the psalmist's lesson to ourselves.
This Creator is also our Keeper.
Day and night, brother,
He watches over you and I and upholds us.
He never falls asleep.
I once watched a little boy being being carried on his Abba's
(a very affectionate Jewish way of saying father) arm,
and I noticed how tightly he clutched his Abba's lapel.
After a while,
however he fell asleep and his hand slipped away
from the lapel of his Abba's coat,
in which he had so tightly clutched.
Yet his Abba continued to hold him just as securely.
The boy's security did not depend on his holding onto his Abba,
but only on his Abba keeping hold of him.
So it is our relationship with God our Heavenly Abba.
Sometimes we feel that if we do not hold on
tightly enough to God, we will fall.
But the fact is that God continues to hold us,
even if we let go of Him.
We may fall asleep, but He never does.
Our Response of Trust:

I thank you Lord, that you uphold me just the same.''
I would ecourage you now, to rest in the Lord.
