Jesus endorsed tithing of dill, mint and cumin (Matthew 23:23.) This is a rabbinic enactment.

The tithing of herbs is from the rabbins. Yoma 83b

I would disagree with with that. Jesus was, as He always was, making a point. His point was not about tithing.

If while we seek to be justified in Christ it becomes EVIDENT that we ourselves are SINNERS, does this mean that Christ promotes sin?
Absolutely not! If I rebuild what I destroyed I prove I am a lawbreaker
Gal2:16&17

I don't believe you can do a proper exegesis of the above verses. You are welcome to prove me wrong

23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye tithe mint and anise and cummin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law, justice, and mercy, and faith: but these ye ought to have done, and not to have left the other undone.
His point was about prioritizing.

Without straining out gnats, I would agree. Focus, is a word I would use, as well. They had an incorrect focus.

You don't understand the message of the person who wrote half the books of the NT

I know that Paul spoke out against sin. The law was demonstrated through the actions and convictions of his heart. He spoke out against sexual immortality, whether it was to the Corinthians or the Romans. His message is one that uses Sola Scripture to support his claims. Much like how Churches today hold to Sola Scripture to support their claims to authority and succession.

I have given you the opportunity to prove me wrong

It is not about proving you or my other Semitic brother in Christ wrong. The fact remains that Paul taught a new way to apply the Law. Paul stated that we the born again sanctified vessels of Christ become the letter of the law and so the written Mosaic law is rendered as a dead letter, because it can never change the heart of flesh, because it was applied to a heart of stone, which did not show mercy, faith, justice, forgiveness, love. The heart of stone said if you do not do this, then you will incur this penalty or punishment.

The difference between the heart of flesh and heart of stone is one is intrinsically and internalizing the Sola Scripture Law, whilst the other one is extrinsically and externalizing the Sola Scripture law, yet both are applying Sola Scripture though by different way of application.

Jesus said.....

27Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart

The goal posts for committing one self to the law of Sola Scripture has been lifted up. Now, we cannot hide behind words and the letter, because our hearts expose us as righteous or guilty before the Holy God.

26I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws (Ezekiel 36:26-27)

Yeah, that's why I posted the following :

Remember YHWH always demanded: "Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another." (Zechariah 7:9)

Why do you keep equating Sola Scriptura with "the letter of the law?"

Again, both. Notice "abideth,"
If I asked you if a person must be sinless in the flesh in order to be a Christian, I'm sure you would respond: No.
For you know Christians are not without sin(1john1:8)

However
If I asked you if you believed a person could be a Christian if they lived a continuous sinfull lifestyle, I imaging you would also say no( 1john3:6&9)

I have the same question. The main theme in scripture is actually the gospel.

I have the same question. The main theme is scripture is actually the gospel.
The totality of scripture taken as whole is (or will be) about, or is, the (good news of) the "gospel of (the) grace" (of God)...

This is why teachers and believer's in law, just don't get it...

God Bless!

Perhaps the One who breathed scripture, for the time being at least, regards it as less important that we all have identical authoritative theological ideas than it is that we all recognize Christ crucified, buried and raised from the dead for the salvation of all.

Our unity is therefore in Christ alone and the theological discussion of scripture and doctrine while being of importance is never allowed to rise to a level where it becomes a divisive heresy. It is only human for their to be different ideas, views, opinions etc. (as we see on this forum), and where the people of God are living and active it is even more so. There is an old Jewish saying: Where you have 2 Jews you have 3 opinions.

If we find unity in the core truth of Christ alone then we can all afford, for a time, to hold some ideas that are not strictly correct and we can, while Loving them deeply from the heart, allow others to do the same while we wait for the Father to reveal all truth in His time.
