Christ will come and restore what was suppose to be, before the fall. In doing so He will destroy death casting it into the lake fire, because death is an enemy of God.
Since we know death that is talked about here as physical death, then we know that this type of death is also an enemy of God. So the basic theology of TE's is that God created death to be apart of life, before the fall, even though death is an enemy of God. The TE's theology is what we call theologically unsound and unscriptural.

actually the new heavens and the new earth will be better than the old. the sum total of all the evil in this world + the betterness of the new will outweight Adam's sin. hence the classic 'solution' to theodicy. Things will not be back where they started but better. so to draw this analogy and to force it into a smaller box, ie no death at end=must be no death before fall misses this expansion. new>>>>old

in heaven no spiritual or physical death.
before Adam no human spiritual death.
heaven is much greater than pre-fall. heaven >>>> pre-fall

in heaven death destroyed.
in before Adam what is destroyed in heaven becomes real.
strict analog between the two. heaven====pre fall.
you are trying to put both into a smaller box than is necessary to be faithful to the Scriptures.

So then you believe the earth would decay without sin?

We can't make that conclusion either way. But I would say that with the sin of man, the earth decays more than it would otherwise; and "otherwise" may be not at all. I don't think one can conclusively determine the "otherwise" state from the text.
