Sin according to the beloved John the apostle of Jesus is not breaking the transitory done away with 10 commandments, but believing in Jesus and loving others as He taught us to do.

It seems that Jesus and the Apostles all agree that God's Law (10 commandments) are here to stay. This also includes the 4th commandment which they all kept and is one of the ten.

God’s Law in the NC is written on our hearts it is through love and it is love the fulfils God’s Law in us as we walk not after the flesh but after the spirit and is why Jesus says f you love me keep my commandments. (John 14:15; John 15:10). If we knowingly break one of God’s commandments we commit sin (1 John 3:4). This includes the 7th Day Sabbath which Jesus made for us and commands us to keep as a holy day.

For many churches Sunday is the day of rest (the Sabbath) I believe what Hebrew chapter 4 says. Why are there churches, who even sell food stuff after the service is over? Is did not wrong in the sight of the Lord?

So nice to meet you here. I believe in Hebrews Chapter 4 as well. It is one of my favorite Chapters on God's Sabbath in the New Testament scriptures. Have you had a chance to study the scriptures in detail?

Let's have a look at the Chapter for context......

HEBREWS 4

1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

So let’s pull Hebrews 4:1-12 all together?

The context is God’s rest from the week of creation on the 7th Day of the creation week (Hebrews 4:1-5). Those that did not enter into God’s rest (7th Day Sabbath) did not enter in because of their unbelief and disobedience (sins) to God’s Word. The Gospel was preached unto them but they did not believe it (Hebrews 4:2). God did not give them His true rest (Hebrews 4:5-8). This is the same warning for those that disobey Him and do not follow His Word. Only those that believe and obey God’s Word enter into his 7th Day Sabbath rest (Hebrews 4:6, 9, 10-12). So you can see Jesus is not a Sabbath. The Sabbath is the 7th Day of the Week. Jesus is Lord of this Day because he is the creator of this day (Hebrews 4:4; Mark 2:28-29).

There is no scripture in all of God’s Word that says that Jesus is a Sabbath only that he is the Lord of the Sabbath and he made it for all of mankind and commands us to keep it as a holy day as a memorial of creation (Mark 2:27-28; Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-11)

There is a qualifier in the passage. The qualifier is explained in LK 24:44.

2. Jesus taught others to follow the 10 commandments (Mark 10:17-21)

No Jesus did not. Jn 15:10.

3. Jesus taught that Love is the fulfilling (doing) of God’s Law (10 commandments Matt 22:36-40)

Not in this passage. Jesus is only answering a question.

4. If we break God’s Law by following man-made traditions we are not following God (Matt 15:3-9)

Does this include an amended version of the law?

5. Jesus says if we commit sin we are a servant of sin and he has come to free us from sin (John 8:32-36)

What does God's Word say.................

Paul affirms the Ten Commandments……

1. Paul teaches God's people keep the Sabbath Hebrews 4.

No, the word Paul uses is "sabbatismos." This word is not "sabbaton" used for the 7th day sabbath.

2. Paul tells gentiles that "what matters is KEEPING the Commandments of GOD" 1 Cor 7:19

No. Paul is not telling gentiles to keep the law (10 Cs. specifically the 4th). But what are the commandments of God? I Jn 3:23 says the commandments of Jesus which are not the law (10 Cs).

3. Paul tells gentiles "it is not the HEARERS of the Law that are just before God but the DOERS of the Law will be justified... on the day when according to my GOSPEL God will judge all mankind" Rom 2:13-16

Paul says there are no doers of the law in Rom 3:23.

4. Paul asks that gentiles consider the doctrine of LAW "Do we then make void the LAW of God by our faith? God forbid! In fact we establish the Law of God" Rom 3:31

Thisi n no way implies a requirement to follow the law. Rom 7:6 says we are now delivered from the law.

5. Paul tells ALL Christians that it is only the lost who will "not subject themselves to the Law of God neither indeed CAN they" Rom 8:6-8

This is talking about the carnal Christian, not the wicked. The subject of Rom 8 is about the dual nature we have introduced in chapter 7.

6 Paul reaches all Christians under the NEW Covenant that God's LAW as known in Jer 31:31-33 is "written on the heart and mind" Heb 8:7-11

This is not the broken law covenant of Israel. Read what the actual passages say. Jeremiah 31:31-33 is a single sentence. A sentence does not change subjects.

7. Paul tells all Christians that the OT text is to be used for Doctrine 2Tim 3:16
AND He never claims that "if I did not write it -- it is not scripture for us today" -- as one or two have imagined for us.

And Peter says Paul's works are equal to Scripture II Pet 3:16.

None of these passages say that. Rom 12 does talk about a living sacrifice. The problem is that living sacrifice has a mind and will of its own and continually crawls off of the altar.

Yes and then we have no need of the law after that point. The law is for the wicked, not the righteous - I Tim 1:9-10.

For many churches Sunday is the day of rest (the Sabbath) I believe what Hebrew chapter 4 says. Why are there churches, who even sell food stuff after the service is over? Is did not wrong in the sight of the Lord?

For me it is very strong evidence Church is nothing more than a social organization these days. God is very incidental.

Why did you stop there. Didn't Jesus keep all of Torah? If they didn't pass away as you have twisted the verses to mean then why are you not observing days years and all the other things Jesus kept while on Earth?


He taught people who were under the law to keep the laws they were under.


Again, you twist scripture to mean 10 commandments when it does not say that the love commandments are from in the 10 commandments. They are found in the book of the law. More wrong information from you.


And that is just what you are doing by adding your thoughts to what God's laws are for Christians.


Where there is no law there is no sin.

And what are Jesus commandments? Love God and love your fellow man as I have loved you. He never ever indicated that the commandments that He gave us were the 10 commandments.


By quoting that text out of context you just incriminated yourself because you don't keep the feast days, wear the tassels and commit yourself to the remainder of the 613 rules that pertain to what the Israelites had to obey.

Of course you are referring to Torah which is not God's law for Christians. Jesus is not asking us to abide by Torah, so your post is mute.

Circumcision was part of the old covenant law. God's commands for Christians is found in 1Jn3:24.

If your talking about Hebrews 4. The subject of the Chapter is the origin of the Sabbath rest from creation where it originated and how God's people could not enter in to God's rest because of they unbelief in following His Word. It is the same warning for us today. Post 464 has the detail...

..and this has what to do with God's Sabbath? This is about following and believing Jesus. It is written he that says he knows him and does not keep his commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him (1 John 2:2-4) and again Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins hath not seen him, neither known him (1 John 3:6).
