Vice President J.D. Vance said he believes mainstream culture in the U.S. is attacking masculinity and, as a result, is creating large numbers of “androgynous idiots.”

At the Conservative Political Action Conference gathering in National Harbor, Maryland, on Thursday, Vance was interviewed on the main stage by conservative activist Mercedes Schlapp.

When Schlapp asked Vance what message he had for young men in America, the vice president responded that he believes “our culture sends a message to young men that you should suppress every masculine urge.”

If men were bound to live by society's expectation of them, we would have no monks.

Monks quite literally repress the masculine urge to be sexually dominate and reckless, as an example.
Monks live their manhood and do not deny it. It’s called chasity.

Maybe some that a few people might be doing it but it's not wide spread.
Oh shoot. I live in a small town and it’s active here along with transgender issues but I also live in a town that has the State Mental Hospital here as well. No that’s not an insult, it’s a fact.

What fact? That most people in your small town have mental issues?

Fact. As a rule, most women want men to act like men. And men want women to act like women. As I said iny post, "maybe a few people" want androgynous idiots but Vance is an idiot if he believes our Culture teaches it.

May as well call it personhood.

The average day in the life of a monk could be the average day in the life of a nun.

And many of their traits are undeniably feminine, if we're talking stereotypes of masculinity and femininity.

Typically chastity is considered feminine, as is passivity (versus fighting), as is "being a person one can lean on and talk to" (versus keeping thoughts and feelings bottled up). Even the very act of submitting oneself to a higher power is a feminine trait.

Every person has a spectrum of masculine and feminine traits.

There is no "acting like a woman" or "acting like a man" - those are social constructs/expectations, taught from birth, not inherent.

I think Vance is erroneous in trying to police people's freedom of expression.

Hollywood, LGBTQ, fashion, etc. the list goes on and on.
Exactly what part of these do you refer to? Hollywood movies mostly show men being masculine and women being feminine. Fashion is usually the same, though there are some weird fashion designers. The LGBTQ community doesn't seem to be any different.
