  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I would guess that she is his first wife. The woman who he operated on and she was then able to walk. We saw them together, but then she ended up leaving him because he was a work-a-holic, I believe. However, we think we recall her having a miscarriage.

That's what I thought too. I think her name was Sarah.

Jack having a son and then not having one really makes no sense to me, and I found it disturbing. I do seem to recall someone asking him if he had children (maybe Locke?) and he said he didn't. I also know Hurley recently told Jack he'd be an awesome father, when we were seeing him struggle as a father in the fast sideways.

I just don't get it. I mean, that also takes David away from Claire and Juliet.

I thought it was going to be a matter of reuniting Sawyer and Juliet and Jack and Kate, since Jack and Juliet are portrayed as divorced, but no, it wasn't. To me that would make way more sense than a disappearing son.

With the Flash-Sideways turning out to be nothing but a collective afterlife fantasy, David's parentage turned out to be just as irrelevant as any other narrative strand connected to this world - which, at the end of the day, is really disappointing.

Note to future script writers: don't introduce new characters just to reveal that they, and anything connected to them, doesn't matter. It sucks.
