It just doesn't make sense to me

I just don't get this: my roomate will stay up until 6 in the morning, so he goes to sleep just as the sun is rising. He wakes up at 4 in the afternoon, just as the sun is setting. I don't understand why anybody would want to have a sleep pattern like this, you'd think most people would enjoy daylight. :) Maybe he's just noctural. ;)

St. Catheirne of Siena did that, but she was praying the whole time. So, unless he is praying, I would say it's a problem.
It's possible, but I don't think most guys pray with a black light, bottle of vodka, and shot glasses. You never know. ;)

No, that's what a lot of guys do around here.

I'm actually just refering to the weekends. On weekdays, he'll wake up at either noon or 2 in the afternoon.
I had a couple of friends in college who would sleep until noon or 2 in the afternoon. This was after the first two weeks of school where they would go to class and then after this they would skip and sleep all day. One of them dropped out of college for other reasons than this. The other skipped around majors and finally transferred to a different college.

It makes no sense to me to spend all that money on education just to sleep. To each their own though.

And with my work schedule I work overnight two nights a week and switch back to afternoons. You wanna talk about a messed up sleep cycle. I never know what day it is and am always tired because I am switching back and forth all the time :sigh:

Heh... I remember when I first got to college.

Had classes starting at 9 and went until 2. Then it was off to track practice from 3 to around 6. Then off to the cafeteria for food. Then we were back to the Athletic Center for our mandatory "study hour". Day ended around 9pm. Went back to the computer lab and played the local MUD (Multi-User Dungeon) until around 2 or 3 in the morning.

After about three weeks of that, and steadily slower 10K times each weekend we finally realized that we should get to bed earlier. :p

No, no, no. She would go to sleep around 6AM and wake up around 4PM. That was always interesting as I had 8AM classes and went to bed by 10PM. The curtains in our room were almost always closed, and it made for a dark, depressing semester. ... well that and the whole Wiccan thing.

I don't see anything wrong with his sleep pattern unless it's causing him to miss class or work. Some people just don't like mornings. :)

I used to work from about 3 to midnight, and then I'd get home, stay up until 4 or 5, then get up around 1 to get ready for work. Now that I'm back at school, afternoon classes are a good thing. :)
