A person I knew who started the rest home ministry. She has been doing this for 7 months now. all of a sudden she just got so frustrated she abandoned the ministry she started and left the church without saying good bye. I have known her for about 3 months beforei went back to my church. She just dumped the ministry on the praise and worship leader.
Not enough people in that church and too many there are wearing 2 to 3 different hats of somesort of ministry.
I think we need to really know that God has called us to a certain ministry.
cause i know for a fact that He will be certain that we will finish what We started out to do.

There is no reason to believe she wasn't "called" to this ministry. And who are either of us to say she did not complete the task God had set out for her to do. Maybe the Big goal of this whole "ministry" was to alert the members of your church to the "need" you have in such areas. Having to wear three or four hats is alittle too much to ask of anyone.. Even Jesus sought refuge from the masses. I'm sure alot of them felt alittle left out if he wasn't able to get to them either.

My point is if a person cuts and runs like that it's usually because they are in a panicked state, and instead of throwing them under a bus, offer to help. If it's already too late for this person, offer to help the next so as this sort of thing doesn't happen again.

The other question to be asking is did the church give support.

If someone begins to run on empty and is not getting support from others that increases the risk of something being 'dumped'. If I have understood the concept of 'rest home' as being similar to the UK then there are going to be a lot of folk they would have built a relationship with who subsequently die and that can led quickly to burnout.
