Hey Bellicus-I get what you are saying-I do....and just so you know my give up thread isn't about finding a marriage partner-if you knew me you would knwo I don't want to get remarried :) I KNOW how miserable marriage can be. It's s et of frustrations on all aspects of life, being tired of it all, and yes failed love-I don't look for love, I don't get out there searching-I don't want marriage-but sometimes humans get lonely and would like to be loved and love. Nothing wrong w/that I don't think. Believe me I know having kids isnt' a walk in the park-I have two-they are awesome-I love them but there are days it's so exhausting you want to run away.

Tamara I'm confused-so everything bad that happens to us or in the world is because of choices? Does the reap what you sow apply to every aspect of life? And what makes you think so? Cause I'm pretty sure that I didn't harvest/sow anything in my life that would cause my husband to abuse me. I'm sure the starving children and people in poverty, suffering from sorrow, famine, pain, war, heartbreak haven't exactly done anything to "reap" their fate...nor does the sexually abused child-or adults tackled by a death of a child-or many of other life tragedies. Your post is extremely confusing to me

Marriage failing isn't ALL about what both people put in-sometimes it's life circumstances-failed jobs, death of a child, abuse, personal tragedy, etc...or simply because GOD allows is for some reason we cannot begin to grasp.

OK, I might be wrong about the Viagra. But statistically, where do you think the usage of Viagra is higher, after 1 year of marriage or 10 year of marriage? And don't blame all of it on physical issues like smoking or diabetes, I think there is just as many tests that show psychological reasons for why someone would need it.

It's called age. Men generally experience ED after age 40. The testerone levels at 27, which is around the median age of marriage, is going to be a fraction of what a man has at 47.

Also, if you start smoking at say, 15 you've at least got youth on your side at that point. When you get to 45, and you've gone from smoking 3 cigs a day to half a pack, that's a helluva lot more nicotine, and therefore, a lot more plaque build-up in one's arteries. Hence, the arteries in the penis are generally, some of the first ones that are going to show some of the less-attractive affects of long-term tobacco use.

Furthermore, men are generally not going to be thrilled to go to a sex therapist and discuss ED and their lack of virility at 45. Viagra requires a one-time doctor's prescription, or you can buy generic ED drugs off the net. That's a lot more anonymous and less embarassing than actually sitting down with a therapist and discussing psychological-based reasons for ED. So, embarassment may be more of a motivator for the use of Viagra, than any psychological-based reasons.

Wasn't viagra originally a medication for treating heart conditions before it was found to treat the problem it is known for now?

I think Rogaine was, and then they noticed all the men were retaining some hair.

I'm not sure on Viagra. But now, I'm actually curious.

Edit: Yup. Angina apparently. [Not a great source, but... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viagra]
