If anyone wants that it has to start right here, consider what you have heard:
As you come to Him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, -1 Peter 2:4
you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house,
to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. -1 Peter 2:5
What does it mean for us to be holy priesthood ?
This is what we have heard:
For every high priest chosen from among men
is appointed to act on behalf of men in relation to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices
for sins. -Hebrews 5:1
The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, -Hebrews 7:23
but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever. -Hebrews 7:24
Consequently, he
is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them. -Hebrews 7:25
So what it means for us to be holy priesthood ? We are to be conformed to our Lord Jesus Christ who is a High Priest. We need to act on behalf of men in relation to God for their sins. How ? We live to make intercession for the sinners/ offenders/ transgressors. For intercession means pleads to God on behalf of the sinners. How do we intercede ? By draw near God through Christ, we plead as if we are sinners themselves seek for the Lord’s mercy. How to make an intercessory prayer ? Follow Daniel’s example ! For the Lord hears his prayer that he has spoken in Daniel 9. That is how apostle Peter told us in order that the Lord is able to save the uttermost those who draw near God through Him !
Heed apostle Peter’s instruction : bring spiritual sacrifice acceptable to God. For every priest should also bring sacrifice to God. Also, bring gift to God; is it always only about money ? No. Bring gift means bring things that will please God.
For the Lord made us a kingdom, priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen according to Revelation 1:6
He who has ears, let him hear.
