Isn't this a bit sexist?

and a guy working outside with no pants on would also be in trouble so where is the sexism in that?

We are talking about the issue of 2 people going outside without shirts on...a woman and a man. The woman is arrested and the man is ignored. I think you may be comparing apples and oranges.

Rubbish. You are comparing apples and oranges. I am comparing a woman going outside not covering areas that generally are considered private and a man going outside and not covering areas that are generally considered private. In that there is no sexism in this case. If a mans sex organs were on his chest then you would be right in your claim. If you can't see that then you must deliberately be ignoring it. Note in the law it specifies sex and excretion organs. Not once does it say only womens sex and excretion organs. As I pointed out previously and people want to ignore because it suits them it has always been clear than men do not reveal their penis in public. There has been no grey area in this. If part of the penis is showing it is considered unacceptable. What has not always been clear is how much breast is acceptable. In this case I think they have gone too far but I think it is good that they have clarified exactly what they mean. This means people won't get in trouble for doing the wrong thing when they think they are doing the right thing. That is actually good common sense just like a government that defined in law what is smacking a child and what is child abuse. It just makes it clear what people can and can't do. Before that people who smacked their child were getting arrested not realising they were doing anything wrong according to the law.

I though it was agaist the law allready.
The law is completely out of touch. Do most people even care about this? Nope. Exposed breasts in public are not something to legislate over. Go to any beach in Europe and see the droves of topless women and the indifference of people towards it and you will see that exposed breasts, aside from the initial shock factor, are no harm to society.
I don't think you see any exposed breasts at beaches or in public in US. I could be wrong, yes many Americans would care enough to protest if wearing no clothes in public was allowed.

then that would actuallt be sexist if you don't make laws regarding women in swimwear as well.

Oh my goodness, what delicious hypocritical irony. It would be sexist to make laws about what swimwear men can wear, but not to make laws about women going shirtless? Do tell.

Note in the law it specifies sex and excretion organs. Not once does it say only womens sex and excretion organs.

Breasts are not 'sex organs'. They play no role in reproduction. A woman without breasts can have sex and children as easily as a woman with them. A woman lacking any actual sex organs will have extreme difficulty with this and may need medical help. No where does the law say 'areas generally considered private' as you seem to think it means.

Men's nipples excrete milk too. Most men do not, but some do, and others cause it to happen on purpose because they want to feed their children.

So either the law has just ruled that men cannot go shirtless, or it is sexist in restricting only women from doing so.

I think the larger problem here is the sexualization of the female breast thanks largely (but not solely) to the pornography industry which treats women as objects with no purpose other than satisfying the base desires of men.

I'm pretty sure that sexualization of the female breast predates the porn industry by quite a bit. I'm not really up on my history of fashion and sex, but I'd guess it to be a difference of at least a couple centuries.

well walk around the beach on a hot summer day and bikinis dont really cover much anymore all they cover is the nipple its like you still see the side breast. both men and women have nipples why is it that a female nipple should not be seen but its ok for a man to walk around bare chest? i guess if a woman feels comfy enough with her body and wants to sunbathe topless or swim topless then she should be able to.

Cutural factors dominate what can and cannot be seen in public. Christains need to enunciate sensible biblical principles as the basis for acceptable standards. On this issue clear biblical principles are not at all clear.

One biblical principle that does stand out is seeing others as real people, not mere objects. The sexualisation of women in many societies contravenes that principle. A woman can become a mere sexual object whether completely covered or totally naked. Our values must go deeper than merely prescribing limits for certain body parts.

yea well married men might get jelous if there wifes where sunbathing topless and other guys were looking at there wifes breasts. but its like are breasts really sexual and private? god made them so women can feed there babies. i dont have a issue if i see a woman nursing her baby or if she takes her top off to sunbathe on a beach i dont mind and i am married so i dont really look at other womens breasts the same way i look at my wifes. really the only thing trully a sex organ would be a penis of a man and vigina area of the female. so butt cheeks then could be exposed too if that was the case if a woman wanted to wear a thong to the beach or g string. same with guys etc.

yea true lol. i have seen women sunbathe and they pull there bikini top off to get a even tan and it dont bother me at all really. its like we have more things to worry about then a woman showing her boobs to the public. we have mass shootings and drug use and etc. its like focus on them not half nude women..
