  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Sure scritpural teaching must be done...
Don't think that means teaching purpose driven life from the alter...
If its any consolation I have been arguing with my; wife, son, bosses, wife, and her dad a pastor about psychology vs Christianity...They all think there is a place for it in Christianity! They are wrong! :D

Personal question bro. If you enter into a conversation about the gospel with an unbeliever what do tell them?

Jesus, along with all the other prophets, were the biggest performance artists of all time. I think God is honored with new approaches in getting the gospel across. the problem seems to lie in the old wine skins who've been in church for years and years being able to take it in.

I got into a discussion with an Indian Hindu Saturday at a hotel we were staying out. He had a heavy Indian accent and says he has read thru some of the Bible but most Christians he has met view him as a "pagan idolator" so he tends to avoid most of them.
Anyway, seems like he does like Church's chicken more than KFC and he was a rather delightful guy.

Very interesting. What do you think of this vs. John 12:47 --
‘As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it.’

I don't think it means there are any born-again Hindus.

I viewed him simply as a person. He was out on the patio deck taking smoke breaks and it seems like we always ended up out there at the same time ehehe.

I just hope I left a good impression on him as we talked more about our families and such and not about the Bible.

Of course. My point was that I keep hearing people tell me that we must preach sin, sin, sin and that relevant preaching is always light on sin. Seems to me that we have made the central message of Jesus preaching 'Repent' but we've left off the fact that the kingdom is near. Jesus was hardest on the religious, those who looked down on others, those who defined what sin was, not those who actually were defined as sinners according to God. Jesus even said, the one who hears my words and doesn't keep them, I don't judge him. I think we do and our preaching shows it.

Very good. There was a building of a bridge through relationship, before scripture.

I just wish now we would have exchanged emails. He lives in Abilene, Tx but he and his famile are originally from India.

Oh I do so love that question.

I have witnessed to hundreds of people, sometimes dozens at a time during various events during the last 15 years or so. Prior to that time 'my witness' was like most: believe like me OR ELSE. Obviously I didn't 'win' too many souls to the world of LIGHT.

People respond naturally to our Father who DOES LOVE them. I tell all that I meet and can that they are Gods children and as such God Loves them Perfectly and they are saved and will never burn alive in hell. If they live in His Love He will never steer them wrong. If they are deceived the deceiver of their heart is not them, so DON'T be fooled or enslaved. God will not lead them to enslavement in any form.

They respond very very naturally apart from condemnation, particularly if when you finish that even if they do not believe or they are enslaved by darkness God still loves and cares for them regardless and without the need for return. That makes it solid at least in the direction from God to them no matter what.

And for all of you here who do not believe you are saved for a certainty or are not assured you are saved, I do believe for you as well, and in your behalf.

I hope not to depart this life in condemnation of any of my fellow man and rather to have loved them and promoted love for them ALL.

Every last one.

I prefer to ask them where they think they are headed if they die...
then I ask what their view of the bible is...
then i explain how God must be the MOST JUST judge...
then i show them with their own words they are liars theifs and so on AS AM I...
then i share Gods grace in Christ...and urge repentance and obedience.

Gotcha.

When I have the chance to talk to Hindus about the gospel I try to emphasize the uniquesness of Jesus Christ. When I was in India, it was not uncommon to run into a person, let's say a shop owner with a poster on the wall of Hanuman or Ganesh or Shiva and right next to it was one of Jesus Christ. Yep.

So, when I talk to Hindus I emphasize the uniqueness of Jesus Christ, that he is unlike any other. I like to tell them Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life no one comes to the Father but by me." The Holy Spirit can always be counted upon to bring home to a person's heart their need to repent or change their mind. I also avoid using the term born-again with Hindus. It has a bad connotation concerning reincarnation.

That is not necessarily the approach I'd make with someone else.

Did Christ or did He NOT convict nearly every person he confronted of their sinful ways? Actually i'd bet in every situation including the ruler whose sin or god was money....Yet he still rejected.

i think the error of non-relevant churches, is that they make the christian life one of all obligation and no passion. it's all rules and regulations and laws. they define us by what we don't do.

Sometimes it even seems there is as much "legalism" in Christianity as there are in other religions such as Judaism and Islam. And why most Christians seem to pick on the Budhists and Hindus I have no idea.

Matthew 5:16 Thus let shine! the light of ye before the men, that they may seeing the ideal works and should be glorifying the Father of ye, the in the heavens.

1 Peter 2:12 The behavior of ye in the the nations having, ideal, that in which they are speaking against ye as evil-doers, out of the ideal works being spectators they should be glorifying the God in day of visitation.

What about the woman caught in the act of adultery? Nothing condemning there. Even in his own words -- "Does no one condemn you? Then neither do I." The only thing Jesus told her was to go and leave your life of sin. He didn't name it, preach a 3 point sermon on it. In fact, she didn't even ask him for anything. It was a total act of mercy.
