Yes I know it is by faith that we enter into the covenant. This is why I have posted Romans 5:2 several times.

Romans 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

The question I am asking is how do we exercise this faith. Faith without works is dead so the faith we enter into the covenant with must be manifested by works of faith does it not?

2 PETER 1:8 FOR IF THESE THINGS BE IN YOU, AND ABOUND[GROWING] THEY make you that ye shall neither be barron[idol] nor fruitless in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

this states that a christian can be fruitless and idol but still in the Lord...

the example of Faith ........Hebrews 11:8-9 goes to Gen 15:6
the example of works ...... James 2:21 goes to Gen 22:10

Romans 4:2 For if abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.

romans 4:6 Even as David also described the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputed righteousness without works.

Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by theworks of the law shall no flesh be justified

romans 9:32 wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
33 as it is written, behold , I lay in sion a stumblingstone and rock of offense: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed

A Brethren IN CHRIST,

You keep posting scriptures about the law and I am not talking about the law at all. I know we are not justified by the law but by faith. I also know that faith without works is dead, works of faith not works of law keeping. I also know that without Christ we can do nothing to bring ourselves to salvation in the end. Justification and salvation are two different things. We are justified by faith but saved by grace.

It is apparent by the lack of response I got that I won’t be getting an answer to my simple question so I will be letting this one go. Thanks for your replies A Brethren IN CHRIST.

umm Tawhano may I point out that every scripture that A brethren IN CHRIST gave is ***from the New Testament*** my friend Jesus raised the bar and by His own words said He was not doing away with the Law. Is it okay now to commit Adultery, Murder, lie, steal, covet. Please inform of which parts of the Law can we ignore now?

What Christ did was to empower us to be overcomers and not be a "poor sinner saved by grace". Though we are sinners saved by grace that grace is an empowering to be more than conquerer's, overcomers who by God's grace in Christ attain to God's standards and not an excuse for God to lower the standard so poor old mankind can be saved. Sorry but Jesus is coming back for a "perfect bride" and victorious church and if we are this at the moment of salvation and God just ignores our imperfections then Paul wasted a lot of time writting the Epistles. What is He waiting for and why did He say,
Rev 2:7
7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
KJV
Rev 2:11
11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
KJV
Rev 2:17
17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
KJV
Rev 2:26
26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations
KJV
Rev 3:5
5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
KJV
Rev 3:12
12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
KJV
Rev 3:21
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
KJV
Rev 21:7
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
KJV
We are above the Law so-to-speak but the Law very much applies because the Law represents the way God wants us to live and in Christ He has empowered us to live that way by giving us the room for error so that we may go from faith to faith learning from our mistakes until we are living the way God wants us to live. One last quote
Rom 3:31
31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
KJV
Don't live beneath what Christ purchased for you,
Jamey

Actually, this is what Christ said:

Matthew 5:18 ASV

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.

I believe that we can understand in this particular instance that the word 'law' here is referring to the Old Covenant. Christ therefore says that none of this shall pass away - until all things are accomplished. Upon His death, His ressurection and His ascension to the Father, all things were accomplished. This is why we are no longer bound to observe the rules and regulations of the Old Covenant - for it has passed away.

Is it okay now to commit Adultery, Murder, lie, steal, covet. Please inform of which parts of the Law can we ignore now?
All of these commands are repeated under the law which we now find ourselves, the Law of Christ, which is found in the New Testament.

As for certain commands of the Old Covenant which you no longer have to observe, read through Leviticus as there's plenty of examples there ;)

Leviticus 20:9-11 ASV

For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall surely be put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him. (10) And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. (11) And the man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his father's nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

These are just some example. I am no longer required to give a grain offering, a drink offering, a sin offering; I am no longer required to observe any of the feasts or special days either. These are all part of that which has passed away.
