Is this odd or is it just me?

Hello everyone,

Was wanting to run this by someone. I have a big habit of reading to deeply into things when its just not necessary. This may be the case here today. What do you think about this.

I came home from visiting a neighbor and went to make a phone call I found out that my phone wasn't working. I then realized that my procrastination in paying the bill caught up with me. The phone company turned it off till I made the payment. No biggie, I messed up and I deserved the consquences. The phone package I have also includes my satelite TV. I figured I'd set my son up with the TV while I tried to figure out how to get the bill paid. I went to put on a cartoon channel and there was none. Should have known.

What I found to be odd about this was. The channels that the satelite company left for me to watch was the "tv guide", the "how to about the satelite" ALL the info-merical channels and the only one that had any real substance to it was the Angel Network Channel. The religious channel. No big deal, right? I should be thinking that is pretty cool, if I am without my regular service I still can get some "spiritual viewing".

BUT......I wonder did the telephone company purposely leave the "spiritual/christian" channel up to send a message. That you need God in your life to be more responsible in paying your bills. That maybe if you had God in your life you wouldn't be so neglectful with your responsibilities and pay them when you are supposed to.

Not sure if I should laugh at myself for thinking such a weird thing....or check myself into the local hospital for some mental evaluations.....^_^

It wouldn't bother me so much to not watch TV or talk on the phone, but to lose my cable modem  that would have me in a tis for a bit :sorry:
I understand, my wife and I work from home and internet access is absolutely essential. I could do without the TV but we sometimes need our phone for work too.

Don't know -- it is certainly possible that the Lord is trying to get your attention. I'm not saying that is what it is, I'm just saying it's possible. Only you and the Lord know your heart.

As for me, I had to disconnect the TV from the antenna when I became a believer. It just pulls on me too much. We have our TV hooked up to a DVD player and a VCR so we only see what we want to see. For someone else, it might be fine. Actually, we've been thinking of getting "Sky Angel" but I can just see myself getting all glassy-eyed in front of that box. The internet gets enough of my time all on its own.

NB! Haven't seen you in awhile!

You and I must have had the same week! My phone was also off --- but I don't have satellite or cable I am boycotting it and loving every minute of it, except that my children would rather be at their fathers (more to watch) than here at times! My 15 year old was hurt on Saturday at his wrestling match, needless to say we were in the hospital all week, he had a 3.5-hour surgery on Sunday to repair his elbow cap that had been sent up his arm in a fall. He now has a rod, pins, screws and wires holding it in place. Nightmare week I tell you! I came home today to no phone, sad thing was, I had no idea, it still acts like a normal dial tone, mid afternoon I tried to use it rather than my cell and it sent me to the phone company! Thank goodness the doctor did not need us today! I totally zoned it out last week and planned to drop it off last weekend already late!

I tell you I have never spent more time in Gods word since I shut it off, I never realized how addicted I was to it. Then I started realizing the cost. Not to mention the yearly upgrades that come out - Tevo, DVR etc... May be this is what is happening to you also?

May be that God is trying to say, Hey? What about me?? I think that is what happened to me.

(Not that I am against TV!! This little missy is a CSI freak! Just that I personally spent more time then with that than in study!);) But God did help me through the withdrawals!!!:prayer:

's back to you! I've been around, just haven't been posting much. Been doing a lot of reading, but not posting. I actually am visiting my parents in NJ at the moment. My dad isn't doing well. He is being treated for a brain tumor. (So, if you could add him to your prayers, I'd appreciate that). I wanted to go up and visit with him and spend some time. We live about 8 hours from each other, so visits are far and few in between.

Wow, I am so sorry to hear about your son. I imagine he was in some pain with that injury. How's mom doing with it? I'll be praying for him and a speedy recovery.

I know when I noticed that, I did wonder. Am I not doing enough to spend time in the Word? I really don't watch to much TV, but I do spend loads of time online. Which could be just as distracting as the TV. Guess I better rethink my time spent a little better. :)

Take care & God bless,

That is something about the satellite programs. We have satellite too, and I don't remember that Angel Network Channel on mine. I'll have to go look. This could be a message for you, or it could be the powers that be in the satellite company are Christian, and that would explain it. ;)
