From my POV, this question and others of this type can't be dealt with on a message board. Some priests and bishops may not care, but others may care a lot. Some in the US meet few marriagable Orthodox Christians, but others have strong connections to home countries or other communities where they could potentially meet more people. In those cases and when there is an established traditon of avoiding affinity in marriage, a person may not be granted economia.
IMO we can't give people advice or even impressions about what "makes sense" or "doesn't make sense." Bottom line: Talk to your priest. Don't look for spiritual advice on-line.
