If there were multiple chances at salvation, the bible would clearly state it. I'm sticking with repent now for the kingdom of God is near
So should I go out and live my life the way I want?? Because it's a lot easier to sin than to lay down my life. The Bible has stated it. Read the thread and:
Have you been decieved by your Bible translation?
For the Lord will NOT cast off FOR EVER:
Augustine's ignorance & error re Matthew 25:46
So should I go out and live my life the way I want??
Because it's a lot easier to sin than to lay down my life.
I look at a woman lustfully, I feel convicted and I stop. Should I run with it instead because there is multiple chances at salvation? Or how about getting drunk as I used love to do and still do on the odd occasion. Should I enjoy my life to this extent because there are multiple chances at salvation?
As stated, il take it there is only one chance at salvation and when Jesus said those who lose their life shall find it, I'm believing Him, not some clown who has a different theology. If the Spirit of God lives within me, He we lead me in all truth. Sorry bud, you ain't cutting it with me.
Nowhere does the Word of God explicitly state that people will have a chance at salvation after they die.
Jesus tells people to make a decision in this life, even to the point of cutting a hand off or putting an eye out because it is better to enter life maimed than to have your whole body cast into hellfire.
In Hebrews 4 it says to not harden your hearts today while it is still today.
Paul said that he became all things to all men that by all means he might save some.
If they could just make a decision in the next life would Paul have gone through all he did?
Then we have the wicked people in Revelation 16 who when they see the judgment of God, they still won't repent of there wicked deeds.
They would rather have rocks fall on them than to face God. Revelation 6:16
Even if, which I don't believe, people could get saved after death what makes you think they will choose life when Scripture says otherwise?
Please show me where the Bible states there is after life salvation??No, you might end up with HIV, bitterness, liver disease, prison & so forth. The list is endless. There's also the lake of fire.
With laying down your life comes also the peaceable fruit of righteousness & the joy of the Lord.
See above. And, no, unless you want to join Satan in "hell".
Is that where all your friends will be?
Also, even though there is after death salvation for everyone, it won't be worth it to live in sin for the rest of your life (which could end at any time) . What if you end up in "hell" for 100's, 1000's or millions of years? Or what if one year in hell would be so bad that it would have been far better not to have lived wickedly? Scripture makes it clear that living for God now is the wise choice.
I agree the Spirit will lead you into all truth. God bless.
In many places Jesus says you must believe to receive forgiveness.Ever better than having a chance, they'll be forgiven. Therefore they repent. See Mk.3:28; Mt.12:31-32, etc, as already posted in this thread & never refuted.
Jesus said it would be better to do those things than to go into hellfire. I would say He was pretty serious about hell fire. How many Christians do you know who've taken their eyes out. Hellfire is a mistranslation - should be Gehenna.
Yes it does. He says "Today", there may not be a chance tomorrow.Or you'll not enter His millennial age eon kingdom & be in outer darkness. Which doesn't rule out afterdeath repenance or salvation.
The "Day of wrath" is sentencing day.To save them from a "day of wrath" (Rom.2:5). Not an eternity of sadism by a monster some people call god.
"What kind of God would call billions of people into being, knowing that was the unimaginably horrible outcome? The words callous, selfish, and unloving came to mind for me.
Speaking of love..."
I would be extremely happy to find out you were right and I was wrong about eternal damnation.Who says it will be that easy for those who willfully sinned against the light given them, as you slyly try to make it sound. Is that all you did to be saved in this life? Just "make a decision"? And then, what, live any way you please for the rest of your life?
You sound like the brother of the prodigal son who was angry because his brother who had lived in sin got saved.
After what Paul, the murderer & Inquisitor of Christians (men & women) did, & the degree of grace given to Him, with joy unspeakable & full of glory, why shouldn't he suffer what he called momentary light afflictions?
In Revelation 16 it says these people will still reject God and they will not repent.Obviously there are people who rebel against God. What else is new. Do you suppose God's love expires, or His Omnipotence is too weak to reach anyone in any condition? Or He hadn't figured this all out before He made man?
When the Israelites got the report from the 12 spies, they rejected Caleb and Joshua's report and accepted the report of the other 10. Then God said in His wrath that they would not enter the Promised land because of there unbelief. Then the people tried to enter the Promised Land anyway. If they can get saved, then they CAN choose life! Scripture nowhere denies it, but affirms they can.
This is clear,In many places Jesus says you must believe to receive forgiveness.
In Hebrews 4 it says the Gospel was preached to the Israelites, but it did not profit them because it was not mixed with faith. Your interpretation of those verses is refuted. Even if you don't accept it.
I believe as long as a person draws breath, they have a chance to repent. This is clear,
but then how can clement and gal and the other ones who have been tricked by the enemy,
how can they be set free ?
What has to change in them and is it even possible ?
WHAT !?!?Why cant ye get it?? Grace is free as long as you believe.
To put it another way lol.WHAT !?!?
Do you mean,
REALLY TRUE !? That even they , they who promote heresy,
can find forgiveness AND LIFE IN JESUS !?
Just by(turning to God) repenting ! ?
They don't have to keep struggline and fighting and promoting false sales/ give-a-ways/ of false teachings to people any longer !?
They can just tell them the TRUTH, and see people SAVED ! !? WOW ~!
That's WONDERFUL GOOD NEWS, JUST LIKE JESUS SAYS !
FREE SALVATION
to all who repent, of course, before they die and before they are permanently condemned for heresy or for unbelief.
I suspect people will quote a lot of Bible verses that say no, but I think only the Lord could know the answer to that question. Is there salvation after death?
If a lot of verses are quoted from His Word, that would mean God gave His answer.I suspect people will quote a lot of Bible verses that say no, but I think only the Lord could know the answer to that question.
Scripture can be figurative and sometimes not entirely clear. Let me also point out that a lot can happen in the last few moments of a person's life.If a lot of verses are quoted from His Word, that would mean God gave His answer.
I agree but if a lot of verses are posted, I myself have posted quite a few, and not taken out of context (which I am careful of not doing) then I would say God has given the answer.Scripture can be figurative and sometimes not entirely clear. But I will repeat that a lot can happen in the last few moments of a person's life.I agree but if a lot of verses are posted, I myself have posted quite a few, and not taken out of context (which I am careful of not doing) then I would say God has given the answer.
