Hi, I'm a new member of this forum, I hope I'm posting this in the right location. Anyways, my friend went on vacation to North Africa. She is not a Christian (But I am) and she brought me back a Necklace with a Hamsa pendant. She is a really great friend so I did not turn it down because it seems really expensive, but am I allowed to wear it? Thanks.

I'd say to give it back to her. If you tell her it meant a great to you that she got it for you and that's why you took it, but it pricks your conscience so you can't keep it, she'll probably understand if she knows you are a Christian.

At a minimum, it would look like a contradiction to your faith. In addition, you don't know what avenues that thing is connected to. On top of that, if it was expensive, who know what "special blessings" they've done to it.

...as long as you're not worshiping it I'm not seeing the problem, it's a piece of jewelry and a gift just say thanks, put it in a drawer and forget about it. what good is going to come from making a big deal about giving it back?
